Mountain bike pedal but I use it on the road bike

This is a mountain bike pedal. If you're looking for a road bike pedal, this isn't for you. I build it on my road bike because I love the idea of having a clamp on one side and a platform on the other. When I want to exercise I use clamps and when I want to use my bike for commuting I can use a platform. PS Don't be like me and buy clips, they're included (don't pay attention).

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Legacy model

Great Pedals for Gravel Bike

Installed these pedals on a Specialized Diverge. The clamp side is up by default, which works best for me. The two-sided feature makes it easy to select a quick spin with the clip-free side without changing shoes. The pedals are easy to hold, well made and spartan for a carbon frame bike. Maybe the seller has problems with spelling and titles. These are NOT Shimano branded pedals, but they do use a Shimano SPD clamp configuration.

The quality seems to be on par with a Shimano pedal

I just installed these pedals on my FELT Z5 road bike. They are very easy to assemble, the thread is not bent, there was already grease on the thread. My Shimano MTB shoes clipped on and off the pedals just as easily as the Shimano pedals on my other bike. I use MTB shoes on my road bike to make walking (uphill) easier when needed. These pedals are about 50% heavier than my comparable Shimano SPD pedals, but I don't plan on racing and the cost is just over half. After initial observation, I…

Quality control issues

The left pedal went in very easily as it should. On the other hand, the right one simply cannot be screwed in cleanly. I've worked with bikes for 30 years, so yes I know the threads on the left and right pedals are different. I even tried lubricating the pedal/handle on the right side to turn it, but it didn't quite work. At this point I'm afraid to unscrew it let alone ruin the threads so I'll probably leave it half screwed in and see how it feels. This isn't my crank because before actually…

Great for mountain biking

Never heard of this brand but decided to buy after reading some reviews, so glad I did! Aside from being cheap, they appear to be very well made. The bearings held up well, the pedal side could use slightly larger lugs but I can understand why they used the standard lugs. The SPD side clamps give very easily as the pedals are balanced and slightly "scooped"; My partner was so impressed she traded her Shimanos for them. The pedals are a lot lighter than my old WTBs (which I loved and wish they…

Inexpensive, a little tight.

Overall I give these pedals 4 stars. 5 will probably be reserved for more expensive pedals. This was for my ICE recumbent that does more miles on errands or short day trips so the platform worked most of the time. I've been using touring platform pedals for the last 700 miles and at times my feet would get too close to the ground. I didn't plan on changing my cleats until I'd ridden a few miles on these pedals and had trouble getting in and out of them (perhaps due to worn cleats). But after…

Nice pedal for commuting but only works with some boots

I have these on my city hybrid bike and they have been great so far. I usually only ride in sneakers or hiking boots. They're light, easy to turn, and look great on the bike. My foot doesn't slip even when wet, but they aren't as aggressive as the MTB platform pedals. My only negative comment is that they don't match my Tommaso Roma cycling shoes which go great with all my other Shimano shoes. PD-M530 pedals and SPD spike. The problem is that the front end of the SPD locking mechanism on Venzo…
