Very easy to use, good for tools and equipment

Works like a charm. I first connected the device to a spare 12V battery. Be sure to connect the red clip to the positive pole and the rear clip to the negative pole. The red light on the device will illuminate to indicate the connection is correct. Then connect the device to the OBD II connector. The device will start beeping to indicate that the connection is set up correctly. Change the car battery and then disconnect the device from the OBD II connector. I had no problems with this device.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Weight

Works great in a battery tester

I was concerned because some previous reviews said this unit had blown its ODB fuse. do. If a device is plugged into the ODB port and then the two terminals touch, you have shorted out the ODB port, which will blow the fuse. To avoid this, connect the clamps to a third battery first, THEN to the ODB connector. The only problem I have is the beep. It's annoying.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Blown my OBD fuse for battery tester

Thought it was just what I needed and seemed to work great until my OBD fuse blew. I used a small 12V 4Ah lead acid battery as the power source and was very careful not to touch the main battery positive lead after removing it from the old battery. I got the settings of the radio, seats, etc., but hours, odometer, etc. No, and I had to reset windows and reset a bunch of error codes from the computer. I'm not sure what went wrong here when I followed the instructions.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • No power

Doesn't work - came with no instructions

came with no instructions but tried to use the device anyway. When it was connected to the battery the LED light came on and I assumed it was normal. When I plugged it into the OBD socket the device beeped continuously not knowing if it was normal or a fault but left it plugged in and tried to change the car battery anyway. I paid attention to the polarity and connected + to + and - to -. After putting my new battery in, I still had to use my code to unlock and reset the radio. My car has…

  • Great design

Runs on 9V battery!

I saw a youtube video showing a similar installation with a 9V battery in a black case connected directly to the battery terminals. I thought I would buy this here. Not as much. I was concerned that I only had the old battery and the new battery that I couldn't use during the transition. Deciding I had nothing to lose, I hooked up a 9 volt battery to the alligator clips and connected it to my outlet. Immediately started squeaking. We then changed the battery, which took quite a while (it was…
