ViewSonic TD2230 10 Point Touchscreen Monitor, DisplayPort 1920X1080P, 76Hz, LED - VIEWSONIC INC Review

The screen is ultra clear and sharp. The color is excellent after sizing. The touch screen only works if your computer supports tablet mode. A little heavier than I was hoping for but a very solid build that I'll trade for a little extra weight. I've been using it daily since I received it. It didn't disappoint.

My only similarity (hence the 4 stars) is that nowhere in the documentation, either in the box or online (like ViewSonic's own user guide for this monitor) does it mention the touchscreen, which I find very odd. After plugging it in for the first time, all I did was plug in HDMI and power. No mention was made of having to plug in the USB cable. I originally got this monitor in addition to my Asus 32" curved monitor to use with the X-Plane 11 flight simulator to pull and control the avionics during flight. The problem is that Viewsonic takes control of the system and its main monitor and Asus (the actual main monitor) is secondary I went into win-10 display settings as well as NVidia display settings and when I "force" Viewsonic my being a secondary monitor I lose the touchscreen capability and thus deny why I bought it in the first…

I love it. By using 2 screens it is much easier to have a touch screen for both displays. I almost returned it due to connection issues. It took almost 3 weeks to find the right connector (I have a light laptop with only USB and mini HDMI ports) and get the monitor working. By the way, this monitor does not work with a USB connection. I didn't realize that a touchscreen monitor required BOTH a display cable and a USB port, and I've been in the computer industry for almost 40 years. I assumed that with USB it would support both the monitor and touchscreen with one cable. I was wrong. You need to use two ports on the laptop, a display port and a USB port. I bought this monitor for a trade show to showcase an app (if it was rotated 90 degrees to look like a phone/tablet). The monitor looks really good for normal viewing purposes and I felt the touch was accurate and had good sensitivity. Essentially, I bought the cheapest 1080p 16:9 "brand name" touchscreen I could find. I wanted the touchscreen for the DVR monitor to eliminate the need for a keyboard/mouse to randomly access things like viewing recordings or zooming in on a live feed. All in all it's pretty good. I removed the asterisk because the touchscreen controller seems to go into some sort of "standby" state when idle and may require an extra press to "wake it up" and start logging hits in Windows. Works well. Very easy to set up. Works out of the box with my wife's Surface Pro 4 with the appropriate cable. Gets 4 stars because the device I received had an HDMI cable which is really useless considering this device only has Displayport and VGA video inputs. It didn't help.

I wanted the touchscreen to match my Mac Book Air. The main description states that the touchscreen monitor is compatible with MacOS. (see photo above). However, the touch screen is NOT compatible. If I just wanted a regular 24 inch monitor I could save about $200.

I like the built-in adjustable stand, which allows you to place the monitor on a flat surface when it's fully retracted, or at a slight angle for better touch functionality. I find using the touchscreen in a fully vertical position a bit difficult. As expected, ViewSonic packs a lot of features and works great right out of the box. It has an HDMI port as well as a regular VGA port for connecting to a computer.

I really like this product but the different design options make me feel like this is a product you make if you don't care. Let's remove what works first: 1. Very good. Very convenient. Its quite responsive and beautiful screen. I use it with a small PC. Touching the screen doesn't wake up the PC, but I think it's a PC problem.

Black is a dark gray and white is a very light gray even at 100% contrast, 50% brightness and native video settings. This should not happen with the normal MVA display type (see TFTCentral dot CO dot UK website for details). - side with my Toshiba Satellite laptop and the difference is obvious. This is an amazing monitor. Very responsive and never missed a beat. I've had problems with other USB touch screens, this one always works fine. Highly recommended.

Glare is the worst thing about this device. It's worse than Apple displays. If there is backlight, you cannot see the image. If you take the time to crank the backlight and contrast to the maximum to try and see through the highlights, blacks turn into ugly greens. If the contrast ratio were wider the first two issues might not be there, but it's clearly not wide enough. One final detail is that while Android TV can connect to a touchscreen via USB, there's little to no support.

very happy with this monitor. I wish the stand was a bit more flexible, but being able to tilt the monitor backwards while working on blueprints is great. The only downside is that the surface is highly reflective, so lights behind you reflect off very easily.

We bought two of these for a kiosk project and both have a horrible outgassing smell which is totally unacceptable. We assemble and commission the manufacture of many thousands of electronic devices each year and these parts have the strongest and most common odor of any part we have worked with. We return monitors and hope to receive monitors from a different batch with no odor. The smell may be due to bad soldering.

The first day I worked about 3 hours. Absolutely nothing the next morning. No electricity, no light. Nothing works, it's completely dead. I paid full price then shipping + non-USI import tax and will never buy a ViewSonic product again. When it worked, image quality was poor (poor contrast and black levels). The picture quality is very sensitive to the vertical viewing angle of the screen. It's fine if your face is perpendicular to the screen, but if you raise or lower your head a little, the image blurs into dull, muddy colors very quickly. I was hoping to use it in a tilted position, like a control panel or audio mixer, and move it about 8 inches away from the front of the table, but it looks terrible. You have to lean directly over the screen to see a decent image. Slide back while it's reclined
