Now with artificial coloring

Have been feeding my Eclectus Volkman Soak and Serve for many years. This is by far his favorite and I appreciate the opportunity to get some fruit and veg in it without too much effort. I was very disappointed to see that the new version featured multiple artificial colors. I don't really worry about artificial colors myself, but birds are much more sensitive. For this reason, companies have been avoiding the use of artificial colors in their products for years. Volkman left and ruined a great

Bali's Favorite - Birds

I have a rescue parrot. Yellow Raven. His feathers looked very ragged and he was not well fed. Unfortunately, what I thought was good quality food cost P Featherfeathers and his feathers looked very frayed and dry. Did tons of research to buy as Balinese food is in love with it. I don't always mix it with water, I also give it straight out of the bag and he still loves it, his plumage has improved rapidly, he's not losing half his plumage and he doesn't scratch or dry out like him. I highly…

I bought this for my Eclectus. He's quite picky about his food and I've tried other freeze dried foods which he nibbled on but didn't actually eat. Sometimes it's even hard to get him to eat his porridge! I've only given it to him three times, but what a success! He really likes his food to be a little softer so I cooked it instead and it cooked to his liking even though the guy said she smelled the house. I didn't find it smelled bad, but like cooking, it does have an odor. Anyway, he has a…

Volkman Birdeez Buffet - Your parrots will thank you. Actual

I have been feeding my flock of seven parrots this food for breakfast for many years. The range of legumes, seeds, fruits, vegetables, pasta and nuts is the best and most consistent I've found. They all love it and I mean LOVE it. My pack ranges from a few different parakeets to Princess Parrots and African Grays, and of all their variety of foods throughout the day, this is the one that really turns them on. My fawn gray yells "Mmm Mmm breakfast hurry up hurry up pretty good Ha Oooo" and keeps

I love to chill with my eclectus

This is very good for chilling with your pet. You could probably use this every day if you wanted to, but it doesn't contain big beans like Peruvian beans or anything like that. They are mostly small beans like lentils. But when you need to take a break with your parrot, or in my case my eclectus, this works great. I used to try to take frozen bean mix with me, but sometimes I went somewhere that I couldn't reheat my mix or refrigerate it. This is great because all you have to do is take the…

Got my parrot eating it!

My 5 month old parrot finally took this mix and seems to be enjoying it now. I had to deduct 1 star because the 15 minute soak is a bit off. While other species with larger beaks might be able to break up wood, cardboard, and (in this case) soggy but still hard food, my little one just doesn't have the strength to digest undercooked food that isn't properly soaked (even though he thinks he is an ara). When I was told "intended use" my bird swallowed it, found he couldn't crack it, and spat it…
