It is highly recommended to mount it on a tripod with Vortex.

I'm a big fan of Vortex binoculars, spotting scopes and rifle optics. We highly recommend that you mount it on a tripod with the Vortex quick release mount if you enjoy tracking game. The lifetime guarantee is a big plus. I send mine in for free cleaning and maintenance every year.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging

Arrived dirty, already scratched and rusty.

I bought these new in the box and they arrived with scratches and dirt on the lenses. The hinge was already corroded and the "Made in China" sticker was peeling off. Very disappointed as I paid extra shipping to get them to Alaska in time for hunting. I immediately returned the item and will shop elsewhere.

Amazing glass for binoculars and scopes

Time and time again I have found Vortex to outperform its competitors in clarity, quality and affordability. The 12x50 is uncompromisingly lighter than many 10x50 competitors. Compared to my Swarovski 8x42 fathers, I have to say that the Vortex is the same or even sharper. Even in poor light conditions. Everything you read and see in these binoculars is true. You will not be disappointed and the binoculars will serve you for many years.

That's great! I bought Swarovski 12X50 EL and .

You are amazing! I bought the Swarovski 12X50 EL and this Vortex Razor HD 12X50 at the same time for comparison. Both were very clear and crisp at dusk. It is very difficult to see the benefits described by experts. In fact, there are so few of them that it doesn't justify the price difference of more than 2x. And the Vortex VIP guarantee works, I had to return it twice due to user accidents and they fixed it with no problems. As a hunter, this really gives me the advantage of finding game…

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • No color required

I was looking for a new pair of binoculars suitable for everyday bird watching. The image quality of the Vortex Razor is simply outstanding. I'm in awe of the best view of ordinary species! I am particularly impressed by the minimal distortion when looking through the window pane. They're heavier than my old Eagle Ranger Platinum binoculars, but lighter than the Elite binoculars. I like the Vortex lens cap; it doesn't bother when not in use. I like the neck strap, but the Vortex harness system…

Smaller size for short people with a lifetime guarantee

I have been a casual bird watcher for many years. I was using Zeiss 6x35 binoculars but wanted a more powerful pair. I researched different brands of binoculars and settled on Vortex Razors. The optics are as good as Zeiss and another brand in the same price range that I've tried. The decisive factor for me was the size of the Vortex. I have small hands and facial features. The Vortex is lighter than most binoculars at this magnification at just over 24 ounces. The kegs are also small and fit…

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Damaged

I have several binoculars in the $500 range from Pentax and Nikon and the Vortex Optics Razor is noticeably sharper and resolves much better detail. The next step will be Zeiss Victory binoculars at twice the price. I tried the Zeiss Conquest but the ones I got were out of tune which ruined my life with budget Zeiss binoculars. I have 6x, 7x, 8x and 10x binoculars and these 8x magnifications are generally the most useful although the lower 7x50 magnification is best used on boats with boat…

Pros
  • Cool product

On the plus side, the clarity and brightness were excellent

First of all, on the good side, the clarity and brightness were excellent. I didn't want to have to send them back. Why they were returned: 1. On the first day of VERY CAREFUL use, one of the soft silicone rubber eyecups fell out. I don't know if it was 100 degrees heat or a broken part. I later discovered (by comparing over 20 binoculars at the Audobon store) that these are the only binoculars that have this thin rubber gasket. Probably more comfortable, but I don't want dust and sand getting…
