Fits well on my 1987 FUJI Absolute Touring Bike

This crank has breathed new life and looks great in the MT 87 FUJI, I was a little worried the big cog is smaller than the original but given the age of the bike and my progress in years, speeds of 35 mph or more are no longer to be expected on such an old bike. The bike has no noticeable speed difference and it now has 21 gears compared to the old 14 gears and also looks less aged than it did when it was originally fitted :-) I'm giving it a 4 at the moment as I haven't tested it forโ€ฆ

I love these cranks

I like it so far. After pulling out all the chain links including the middle 32T (I have 34, 36, 38 and order 32) to be able to adjust them to your needs. A 34t with a Sunrace 8sp 13/34 ratchet would probably be ideal. Anyway back to the cranks, the finish is amazing, love that it comes with hex bolts with a rubber washer to connect it to the spindle (the bike comes with bolts), the crank puller goes right in the pedals screwed (good threads). Now I can change the sprocket in 10 minutes. Ifโ€ฆ

good quality sprocket

This connecting rod set was converted to 3 pieces (US to English bottom bracket) for a Pacific 3X6 03 '26 hybrid. To downshift from the original cranks 3X 48/38/28 chainrings Remove 5 links from the chain and it works fine Installed on a 116mm spindle (68X116mm Shimano CT90) Small chain bolt heads got in the way of the adapter and had to This would be eliminated by the English BB shell because the adapter was too high (wide) in the US shell. A 118mm BB spindle is what I need, but I got this old

Did the job converting 1X

This successfully converted an old Shimano Tourney drive train (riveted triple crank) to a 1x with standard 104mm bolt spacing allowing the gearing to be fine tuned with normal narrow wide front sprockets could become. Installation is easy if you have a crank puller. There is no real way to remove square cranks without removing one of them. The cranks themselves are quite light and work well. The threads for both the cranks and the pedals were a bit rough. One can definitely say that this is aโ€ฆ

Fake but works well

If you are looking for a real Vuelta connecting rod, this is not it. However, it is functional and suits my needs on my base bike. I wanted the 22t rail to pull a 100lb trailer uphill. To do this I removed the 44T and 32T chainrings leaving only 22T. I may add a bashguard for aesthetics in the future. It's a square conical diamond (meaning the square is 45 degrees off horizontal), so keep that in mind if you need replacement parts later. The length is also 175 mm. Another tip: make sure youโ€ฆ

Pros

Cons
  • The list will be long.

Bought this connecting rod because it was cheaper than replacing the worn steel rings on my old connecting rod. However, the listing says it will fit the 110mm bottom bracket (which I have), but that's not true. I attached the crank and as soon as I started tightening it to the bottom bracket axle, I noticed that the bottom cog started making contact with the chainstay - a big problem. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the crank flange, where it attaches to the shaft, is recessed aboutโ€ฆ

  • Everything is fine

My Mongoose Malus was cursed because the stock WAAAAY cog was too big for its weight. compared to the stock 14-28) rear freewheel cassette PLUS this crank with the largest and smallest sprockets removed so I only have a medium 32 tooth chainring. So the bike is still a 1x system. Rotate it into the BB cup to get the correct "chainline" otherwise the switch wouldn't be good. Here's how: On this bike, the bottom bracket axle is 7" wide, and it boils down to the fact that the axle should protrudeโ€ฆ
