Perfect replacement especially for P0420

Bought for my 06' Frontier. There was a code p0420 and after replacing a faulty O2 sensor I had to get a new cat, many saw it cost over double that price but it seemed like it would fix the problem. Everything ended up fitting perfectly but only to buy a new gasket and some screws as everyone here suggested. So far no codes and works perfectly.

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Beneficial to stick to the famous brand

2 years later and no problem. At the same time I also replaced the secondary cats with another brand. I followed the breakage procedure in the procedures that came with the other brand to keep the catalyst from coming loose. Guess what? Another brand had its catalytic converter fall off after two years, but these, which went through the break-in procedure with no warning, are still holding up.

Easy to install great job

This Walker Cat model was very easy to install on my 2006 Nissan Frontier. The catalytic "matrix" inside looked just as good as the original equipment. I got another brand cat like Rock Auto or something for the passenger side which had a coarser matrix and wasn't as easy to install. This Walker cat is of high quality. My original cat had disbanded and the walking cat was ready to go. My "cat efficiency" warning light went off after driving a few miles. Definitely recommend.

Extremely bad welding quality on spool

Extremely bad welding quality. Includes two studs welded on with thumbtacks, but one of them didn't have thumbtacks so I had to weld on the stud myself to make the cat usable. All of the welds looked like they were doing it for the first time. On the plus side, the dimensions were perfect for a hassle-free installation. Techs tell me not to expect very long lives from these non-genuine cats. As for my job with the welder in my shop, I can put up with Walker's lack of quality control to save…

Passenger Side - POOR CONNECTION, BOLT NOT WAY RIGHT TO FLANGE

Finally got around to installing this converter using a hammer and a small tube to bend the bolt into place. Pick it up and then use a hammer on the rear flange to get enough threads to see behind the exhaust manifold flange from the engine. It took about an hour just to put the cat on the exhaust manifold and cross my fingers as I started the engine. Luckily it didn't expire. However, it was much cheaper than OEM, around $700. Oh yes, nuts, bolts and washers for the back will need to be…

Buy this, do it yourself and save about $1,000 for three hours of work.

My check engine light came on because of the right hand catalytic converter. I kept getting offers around $1400 for a replacement transducer and O2 sensors. The transducer, two sensors and o-ring cost less than $400 on the Revain, so I decided to do it myself as there are only 7 screws to remove. It took a long time but I did it in three hours. There are some bottlenecks and they are annoying but worth it. All you need are 13mm, 14mm, 15mm and 22mm wrenches, wrench spray liquid, a light or two…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Low serviceability

Fit My 2005 Xterra SE 4WD

I've read reviews that the cleats on the top don't fit some people but they fit me perfectly. There's a heat shield in there that gets in the way of the 3 nuts on the top, so I ended up cutting it off an inch or two and folding it to the side so I could access the nuts. FYI, the driver's side cat has brake lines making it difficult to get to the top nuts, thank goodness for my investment in ratcheting box wrenches! The passenger side is more open and doesn't interfere with the brake lines. At…

Direct Landing Type / As No. *UPDATED with note*

I recently received and installed this (and front right hand transducer) for my Xterra 06 and I have a few comments and issues that I would like to address want to point out. others to view. At first glance, the overall processing quality of the converter is convincing. I noticed that the comb material inside was dirty and didn't feel brand new, so I'm wondering if recycled material was used. It will be interesting to see how long this lasts before the code reissues. I would also like to point…
