Try new technology

This is the second bottle cage next to the black metal bottle cage that came on the bike. I decided to try the Water Buffalo nylon/carbon block after reading numerous reviews of broken welds or bent tubing on aluminum cages. The Polar bottles I have slide in and out with no problem. The big question is how durable they will prove to be over time. If it proves durable I'll probably replace the original metal holder.

Pros
  • The unique 23 degree curvature of the temple tips allows for smooth bottle removal without damaging the bottle.
Cons
  • So so

Poor Design Sports

The design is not well thought out. The two "hands" that sit on top of the water bottle make it very difficult to put the bottle back on when you're on the bike. More often than not, you'll catch one of the levers under the bottle and it will flex inward, preventing the bottle from entering the cage. It's hard to explain, but believe me, there are better ways. Plus, Water Buffalo will send you a free bottle when you register your product. I know it's free, but these bottles are useless. Theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Forget fragile plastic and aluminum water bottle holders. This is made from durable Nylon/Carbon - stronger than carbon alone so it will stand up to years of use.
Cons
  • A few little things

Excellent customer service!

So I ordered 2 of these bottle cages from Revain but only got one after going back and forth with Revain for about 2 weeks after the replacement didn't arrive for some reason. So I wrote directly to Water Buffalo to let them know what was going on and they emailed me back to let you know I got my water bottle cage shipped to me direct from the company within 3 days! That's great customer service! Great bottle holder, easy to remove while riding. Supplied complete with screws. Great solidโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Unlike traditional bottle cages, this bike water bottle cage has a wider base and flexible nylon handles with grips that hold the bottle securely so it never falls out.
Cons
  • A few small things

Probably not for mountain bikers

This bottle holder looks beautiful. Nothing fancy, but easy entry and exit from both the side and the top. At first I was very happy with it. However, it did what I don't expect from a water bottle cage. It dropped the bottle. At first I thought it was more because I was using a slick thermos that didn't necessarily "fit" well in this cage. Conveniently, the company that does this sends out a free standard squeeze bottle when you sign up with them. Relax. This should help my bottle fall out ofโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Installation is simple and easy. All tools and screws are included with the bike water bottle cage.
Cons
  • Doubtful
