100 amps will not pass through this switch!

Installed a 300 amp switch between my 12 volt 2000/4000 watt inverter, as soon as it drew 1500 watts for 5 minutes it cut out due to under voltage. The machine will not pass 100 amps. Measure the voltage on both sides and it dropped to 9 volts after the switch and stayed at 12.9 before that. So I removed it and plugged it straight in and the inverter works great.

Total Garbage on Switches

125 amps with total failure at 100 amps and current control by my motor controller 100 amps max. The switch failed and wouldn't reset the release button or the reset lever didn't work at all and took me 4 miles from home on the road left behind. This shouldn't have happened, especially with my current controller maxing out at 100 amps while I'm driving. My controller is 120 amps, 150 amps maximum continuously, and the batteries are rated for 160 amps maximum. In the worst case, it should have…

Cheap Switch Protector

I placed this between my battery and my heavy duty winch. So I don't have to melt the cables or the battery poles in the event of a short circuit or the winch standing still for too long. I do NOT expect this little circuit breaker to work as a $1000+ industrial part. It probably won't handle excessively high inrush current or even full load current for long, so it should be sized larger than you need but small enough to save on your wiring. I wouldn't use it as a load regulator switch either…
