Poor quality but 1 of them worked fine

Poor quality control. Out of the 2 I received, only one worked. The connection to the antenna on the 2nd is poor and only works when the antenna is pushed forward. Bad soldering, which is what I expected. But luckily I only needed one of the two. Excess textolite was not cropped. And not in a sealed anti-static bag. In fact, the bag was zipped.

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • Some cons

Didn't work with adapters.

Initially I connected them to 2 Arduino Nano boards with breakout adapters: they didn't work. After making sure they were connected properly, I removed the adapters and connected the nrf24l01 to the nanos: after that they worked great. So breakout adapters are useless.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Only one antenna worked

Love the range performance. Dislikes: After hours of troubleshooting and assuming something was wrong with the code, I noticed that one of the antenna break LEDs was off. I disassembled the tap and only used it for testing, see photos, one of the antennas turns off the LED when connected, it looks like a short circuit somewhere in the antenna circuit.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

Good and solid assortment!

Same pinout as NRF24L01+ without PA+LNA. The adapter is important for the Arduino UNO as its +3.3V is weak. For the Arduino Due, modules can be used without an adapter (+5V) by connecting VCC directly to +3.3V.

Pros
  • High test scores for support and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

.Not for the faint hearted.

Nrf24 is notoriously difficult to set up. Transmission power and repeated settings - it works. Lots of fiddling to get it right.

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors
