Worked great in my 14 gallon bio cube

Got three just the right size! Boiled them (kept in water all the time) several times (in a soup pot) for a week. Extracted most of the tannins. The wood sank within 24 hours of cooking. Very satisfied.

Bad red-brown color of the water!

Maybe just throw it away! The tank turned a horrible reddish-brown color. I completely replaced the water in the tank and now I'm trying to cook these pieces but it took ALL DAY! Boil and water change, repeated boil to no avail. I will never buy again!

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Good as advertised

I was pleasantly surprised. All 3 were a good size and looked great in the aquarium. Tannins occur naturally in wood and are brown-red in color. I found driftwood on the beach that I had to soak for weeks so I don't know what some people are complaining about. I liked what I got.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Large and bulky

DO NOT BUY! for fish and aquatic animals

honestly I don't write reviews but I felt it necessary, I bought them over three weeks ago and since I received them they've been sitting in a bucket or hot water. Any bucket of water they stand in turns red, and the longer it stands, the darker it gets. I keep changing the water and I think there is no more red dye. But I'm wrong. it's still turning that awful reddish-brown color. I will not put them in my tank.

You are real. Very disappointing.

First of all they are all very small. The largest is 3.9 inches. The smallest is 3 inches. At least are they consistent? The ad had parts from 4.5 to 8 inches, so it was a lie. Two of them were so worn and rough that at first I thought they were covered in dust. One of the ends broke off when I rinsed it under water (normal tap water pressure, it didn't take long). If you are looking for Mopani or similar jewelry, look elsewhere. I'm also very glad I rinsed them before deciding to put them in…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Not bad
