Braille Parking - Steps

Well made product. I have a 2004 Tundra with no backup camera. So if I pull into a parking space with a wall, I can use that as an indicator of when I'm fully into the space. A kind of "Braille parking lot". This keeps the rear bumper from dings and dents. This is also a good move to get on the back of a truck.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Compatibility

Comfortable in footpegs and steps

I installed a bump step on my Honda Ridgeline. The Ridgeline has a bi-directional tailgate. I was glad to see that I didn't hit my chin opening the back door like a door rather than a drawbridge. It's easy to install and doesn't make any rattling noises that I know of. Bought more for the protection than the crotch. With all the people texting you, you never know when someone is going to hit you at the crossroads.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Very expensive

Killed the Buick Regal, you can't even tell it was hit.

This morning I hit the back of a Buick Regal. This product went through the bumper, through the grille and took out the radiator. Not a scratch on my truck. I made the notch because the hole it was on was quite tangled. There is a small crack. People complain that everything is plastic. That is the point! You want it to absorb shock and not distort your frame. i love this shop

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Vulgarity

The bumper stand saved my truck from damage.

I was hit from behind while stopping at a traffic light last week. The guy stopped and texted at the same time. The impact was so severe that the stage broke off the coupling, leaving the remaining insert. Absolutely no damage to the truck or another child's truck. He was so shocked that I just scolded him for texting on the go (he immediately admitted he texted and didn't see me) and sent him away.

A must have for an SUV or truck

Great product, strong, light weight, well built like all other WeatherTech products. It's very useful for getting into the trunk of an SUV and I've also used it for getting up to wash the car's top. Best of all is the crash protection, which has helped me a few times by preventing the rear bumper from hitting the wall. Before that I had a case where I slightly hit the wall and the chrome strip on my bumper cracked. After application there were no problems. I've been using it for about 8 months…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Not all will fit

WeatherTech Bumper Prevents More Expensive Bumper Repair

I used to have one on my rear bumper because I accidentally hit a concrete post while reversing at a gas station. The accident did not damage the bar but left a small but permanent dent in the rear bumper. Then one day I discovered that the fender step on the hitch was broken. Judging by the force required to do so, it was likely that the other driver had run into him at considerable speed. If I didn't have a jounce bumper I would have gotten a serious dent in the rear bumper so the jounce…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Will do

Attention photo! in footrests and steps

Not too impressed. It's all plastic, hollow, fits too loosely in the receiver, and isn't likely to take a hard hit, except as a sort of victim warning device. It supports my 230 pounds but doesn't feel stable or inspire confidence. I'm glad it's made in the USA, but I'd like to buy a sturdy Smitty. It feels well done but beware of the photo. It's definitely not a heavy-duty rubber-on-metal protector like I thought it would be. Update: After having it on my truck for a few months I have to…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Unsure
