Useless 10-24 thread nut won't go all the way in or lock when compressed

Unusable 10-24 nut, difficult to insert halfway or not possible by hand. Then squeezing the right ones (50% of the pack) gives you slip when compressing and again slip after re-tightening. Attitude. This is a bad batch that is now the norm. A year ago I had 100% success with identical looking rivet nuts, size 10-24, copper colored. Now 50% don't fit all the way in, and the ones that do don't get tightened properly, causing a lot of frustration. Solution? Use another brand, switched to stainless
