Confirmed Thoriated

I bought it to check the geiger counter as there was no radiation source at hand. I can confirm they are radioactive and my geiger counter is working. Good. I can't confirm the thorium content. I have not used them for TIG welding.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Piggy bank Price

68 Firebird Borg Warner 5 speed mod setup

Aluminum welding and modified bell setup to swap the Muncie 4 speed transmission through the newer model Borg Warner 5 speed transmission with 17° offset inclination and use to replace a mechanical clutch fork and a release bearing.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Good service - welding and soldering

the product came on time as required. Unfortunately, and it was my fault, I bought the wrong size tungsten. I needed 3/32" and didn't realize it until I started connecting my TIG torch. Thought of returning it for a refund but the 1/16" might come in handy in the future. I went ahead and ordered the right size.

You get what you pay for

I don't know why this tungsten has so many good reviews. The package I received is complete nonsense. I weld for a living, so I'm not just a layman who doesn't know much. I tried this tungsten and had to keep sharpening the tips. I didn't hesitate to buy the best quality tungsten on the welding consumables website. This stuff is cheap for a reason.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

You can't go wrong

These rods did a great job. I have little to say about tungsten electrodes. They have to do their job and they certainly do. Love the ease of ordering them through my phone app when I need a replacement. The seller was very concerned that I would be satisfied with his product. I appreciate it very much. They emailed me after purchase to make sure everything was to my liking. I will buy them again next time I need tungsten electrodes.

Pros
  • The best
Cons
  • boring packaging

Handpiece grinding for TIG welding machines

So far so good. That's right, I haven't tried welding with him yet. I will report this later. I just wanted to provide a picture showing the tip being sanded on a 180 grit belt sander. I don't know what angle is optimal. This was my first try. I know you want to grind parallel to the bar for better arc stability. Also, I know there's a dirt problem, but we only sand plywood on this sander, so... I don't think there's a problem. To be 100% sure, you need to learn the best methods for sharpening…

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Cleanliness

A complete waste of resources to complete the survey!

Asking a visitor to rate a product that was bought less than two weeks ago is absurd! Nobody can objectively evaluate a product in such a short period of ownership and use, unless for some reason it is complete and utter garbage. Estimates of this sort are a waste of hours and hours in a foolish attempt to justify a "position" for people who are either too lazy to do any meaningful work or who have no skills other than occupying physical space and consuming natural resources!

Pros
  • PERFECT for welding copper, nickel, titanium alloys and stainless steel
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Always Reliable: Welding Equipment and Accessories

Tungsten electrodes from the Midwest have always stood the test of time , when I used them. I'm not a big TIG welder and needed a .04 for a 45 degree butt weld in a 1/16 wall round stainless steel tube and blew holes in the top of the joint with 1/16 electrodes and filler, so I went with it Try it. 04. They're not easy to find, but Midwest shipped them and they arrived the next day. Because they're so fine, they crumple up pretty quickly, but I've been far happier with the results. Filler was…

Double grind provides the best stability for 2% tungsten

I weld a lot of carbon and stainless steel. 2% provides the best arc initiation and stability for stable arc control of molten steel. The importance of tungsten sharpening contributes to the stability of the arc. For example, grinding tungsten to a 45 degree tip or taper will cause the top band to become unstable and deflect some of the arc off the tip. This is a common problem with TIG welders. To define the arc precisely, I suggest double grinding the tungsten. The first grind should be your…
