It had a bottom bearing that failed and now makes a very loud noise when used. The bearing turns noticeably harder. At first I thought the problem was in my router, but no. From now on I'll stick with Freud's fragments. It is of course too late for a refund.
I was looking for a router and router with upper and lower bearings to make simple patterns and to route and trim patterns. Having both an upper and lower bearing means a single bit can handle both jig and trimming tasks. The bit has a 1-1/2 cutting length, so it can handle fairly thick parts. With its 1/2" shank and about 2-1/2" overall length, it's probably best to use it on an under-table router rather than trying to use it in a hand-held router. 8" diameter may not be appropriate for veryβ¦
This rating is for a Whiteside 3/4 cutter with flush top and bottom bearings (2715). I have a small shop but there are several sets of 1/4 and 1/2 router bits. Whiteside offers superior performance and quality carbide at an affordable price. 3/4 double bearing 1/2 shaft flush is ideal for use with hardwood and hardwood plywood jigs. When I need a perfect fit and don't want to spend the extra time adjusting the router fence 4-10 times to reproduce cuts on the outside edges, that's hit time. Forβ¦
