Description of Williams TS51709 Drive Turbo Socket

Quickly and easily remove damaged or rounded nuts and bolts. Place socket on fastener and turn with ratchet, breaker bar or T-handle. Grip on fastener tightens as more torque is applied. No hammering is required to install socket over fastener. Use on all types of standard nuts and bolts as well as studs, pipe nipples, and corroded auto and marine fasteners.

Bent 2-piece nuts removed on 2009 Lincoln MKS

I had the same problem described by another customer (very common problem) of chrome caps breaking on my 3/4" nuts and the steel bar underneath was so seized and rusted that I couldn't get it out with a regular socket (18mm) and just rounded it off. Long story short, I bought this and fixed the problem in 10 minutes.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Very expensive

The bolt extractor worked like a charm!

This bolt extractor worked like clockwork. I used it to remove a bolt cover (used to fill the diff with fluid) from the front diff of my 2008 Cadillac Escalade. I rounded off the head of the screw with a 12 point head instead of a 6 point head. After rounding nothing worked until I bought this bolt extractor. I was able to loosen the screw and screw it back in.

Great tool. I had such a nut.

Great tool. I had a loose lug nut on my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. There was a decorative metal cover on the nuts that fell off. I used the wrong size socket with an impact wrench to remove the nut. The nut has been rounded. I drove the tool into the nut. The tool grabbed the nut and it came loose with no problem. . A bit pricey but worth it.

It absolutely works!

I was hesitant at first because of the price, but I'm so glad I did! It did the job in less than 3 minutes, it took a bit of hammering but then it grabbed and worked perfectly, 3 stuck nuts took my ratchet and used a breaker. Hearing that squeaky sound as the nut pops loose is like all your endorphins exploding at once! Definitely everything this product says or is true! DURABILITY STRENGTH AND VALUE!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some flaws

Considering the cost, this was a big flop.

Tried to remove the drain plug from my transfer case. This head didn't fit me because it didn't stay on the head and gnawed at the bolt even more. I tapped it with a hammer to keep it level. I ended up removing the drain plug and using a Topsider oil extractor to remove the oil through the filler hole. That was the big part. If it was a $3 or $4 place I wouldn't complain but given the cost and specialty it was a huge waste of money.

Works great - custom power heads

Spent the day wrestling with a rounded and incredibly tight nut (A pillar on a Saab 9-3). This socket is easy to grip with one hand. Gave him all my influence. The nut didn't move. I had to use a crusher with a four foot length of exhaust pipe to get this thing to work. The head was held and the nut was slowly unscrewed. Once the nut was off I clamped her down with a vise and pulled the trigger quickly and she popped out of her socket. I highly recommend this outlet.

Just cute in separate drive bushings

Was ready to ride a Mig bolt welded to a stripped 18mm mount bolt on a 2004 Silverado rear brake when I came across this cute thing stumbled. Most other extractor kits did not have an 18mm head. I think Snap-On sells this one (Williams) but I'm not sure. He worked on the first tug with a torsion bar over a ratchet handle. Didn't slip at all. On the Silverado 1500 Z71 I had to use a 4" extension to loosen the leaf spring strut on the axle, but the socket still proved absolutely workable - a damn

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Just note that you only get one

. Most kits are 17mm and 19mm. I really didn't want to pay too much for this product because you can buy a whole set of turbo sockets for the same price. It's supposed to be 2 or 4 packs though, so I figured I was getting at least two outlets for the price. Well, only one came. I have no idea why it says either 2 packs or 4 packs because it's wrong. Also, if I had to do it again I would sand down the screw head a bit and use the 17mm turbo head I already had.

Expensive but worth it!

I had a problem with the infamous Cheysler/Jeep/Dodge two-piece nut. I tried banging them out and most of the caps just came loose exposing the soft inner core it's about 17.8uh that did the job perfectly for the two nuts which were rounded and didn't come loose had to be a Use 3ft pipe of a 2ft break bar but they came loose however part was so badly damaged glans The contact rim actually broke so I had to take a 3/4 hole saw and drill out an acorn to fasten the bolt replace, overall still…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Communication with seller
