This part works and would fit but my car didn't need this part and you can't tell if it is needed until you open the door. The black plastic clips holding the glass to this steel/white part were broken in my car.

The window on the driver's side did not go up on my BMW X5. BMW and local workshops were so busy fixing it. It just took us time to take the door apart and replace it.

Glad I bought it. They fit just right. I saved a lot of money by doing it myself. Some auto jobs can be too complex for the average handyman. But that's not the case with this fix. Do not take from the dealer, do not buy overpriced parts from the dealer. Buy and fix it yourself. It's not difficult.

2006 BMW X5, driver's side window went down but would not go up when the window was fully down. If the window was lowered 1/2, it would still go up. In my case it wasn't the plastic clip that fits in the window hole. It was this piece. The metal cable that pulls the window up and down is attached to this part and the metal guide wire has a square shank that is then attached to this part. My original part had a broken plastic part holding the guidewire to that part. This piece fit perfectly and…
