Type of review

Fits 9.5" ring gear, 14 bolt, 1997 and older GM truck differentials. After the test drive there's nothing to say I highly recommend the floating axle bearing removal tool 1 picked up here at Revain, it attaches to a slide hammer and made it very easy to get the old bearings off.

Pros
  • (where applicable) Improved seal design keeps out contaminants and extends bearing life
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Fixed my bearing problem

I have an old 1988 Chevrolet C2500 where the axle seals were leaking and the bearings didn't seem too bad. After replacing the seals several times, I decided to go this route. Problem solved. He uses bearings and seals elsewhere. My axles didn't seem to have any wear but they weren't sealing. They are supplied with an inner and outer seal. I filled the bearings with plenty of wheel bearing grease.

Pros
  • Reduced noise for smoother operation
Cons

Perfect fit, easy installation!

Very easy to install. After all the drama of removing the original bearings and seals, this was pretty frustrating. The only complaint is how little grease was applied to the bearings. This is supposed to be (more or less) a sealed bearing that doesn't use oil shared with the differential like OEM bearings do. Before final assembly I added a sufficient amount of good quality bearing grease. axis with this bearing.

Pros
  • All bearings are designed and tested to original equipment specifications.
Cons
  • So far, so good.
