disappointed with accessories and compressors

I bought this to be able to use my horn (native contacts behind the airbag worn out). The idea is great, but the execution is not that good. The remote worked well to activate my horn upon installation. However, I was very disappointed when the remote control wasn't powerful enough to signal through the firewall from the cockpit. I even put a new battery in the remote control but to no avail. I ended up hooking up a new horn switch to my console. The good news is that I can use this device in a

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Some small things

Works great. It's not exactly instantaneous as there is a relay inside. So if you press for a split second it will connect for about a full second but it's perfect for what I need. On a brand new car with a weak horn, I couldn't get to the factor horn or wiring without removing the bumper. Now I have two horns, one polite, one not so. :-) Button on the big side, about 2" in diameter, clamps on both power side wires would be nice

Easy to install but this disc switch is too narrow

I use this switch to turn on roof mounted auxiliary and exterior lights. Installation is easy and works out of the box. My complaints relate to the pokey puck switch. Because of its shape and size, it doesn't fit anywhere on the dashboard. It's a pain as I have a panel designed for auxiliary switches, rectangular, oscillating. moreover, it does not provide any feedback on the state of the receiver's switch. More than once I have drawn the ire of the local authorities for accidentally driving in

Wireless remote control relay works well but could be much better

I bought this radio remote relay so I can use my car horn. My car is an old Jeep Grand Cherokee. The horn circuit had a short circuit too difficult to repair; It may be necessary to remove the dashboard, steering ring, etc. I was able to install his horn relay replacement wires in the relay box next to the car battery instead of going to the horn wire as the instructions suggested. The horn wires are difficult to access under the hood. Once these were installed in place of the horn relay, the…

Perfect except for stuttering

The horn button, as others have pointed out, is a little lame. It seems like you have to press it pretty hard to make it permanent, otherwise it just stutters (which is why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5). However, it was a REALLY simple setup. I used the supplied U-clip on the ground side and attached the round connector to the positive terminal that came with the horn I bought. Place it under the nut that secures the battery connector to the stand. I soldered the outgoing wires to the…
