Read the instructions very carefully.

Includes metal spring coiled and secured with a cable tie. Do not cut the tape until you have installed the part per the instructions, otherwise good luck if it rolls up and works.

Beautiful Model: Jigsaw Puzzles

This model was difficult to build but turned out great. Unfortunately there is too much friction in the rails to move with a spring motor. The tracks are moved manually. The model looks good. I was glad I built it.

Be very careful when assembling the spring. Break it and you're done.

I really liked this model (the previous review was an error. Developed for a different product). I had problems with the spring pack right away and never got rid of it. Should probably order spares but this build is ridiculous and I'll probably screw it up again.

Very fun to build but unfortunately it compares poorly to other similar mechanical builds

I've built a lot of woodwork from Wood Trick and other retailers in this niche so I know what I'm talking about when I do that say the mechanical parts of it are disappointing. It was a lot of fun to put together and looked amazing, both the world and the interior, but my son didn't really like it because it doesn't work well, if at all, on the ground. The belts are oversized and fall off easily, so all the gears spin confidently and quickly, but it mostly ends up wobbling on the ground without

This set is definitely not for beginners or young children. As in the previous reviews, the spring assembly is very tricky. This requires more than two hands and needle nose pliers. After going through this build, everything else is pretty easy and straightforward. Sand all moving surfaces with fine sandpaper and apply wax well. The rails need a bit of work, either sanding down the hinge parts or, like me, stretching them out and then machining them to loosen them up. I also found that the…

Good if you enjoy sanding and waxing parts

Having made over 25 wooden models/puzzles I have to say I have never made one that requires more sanding and waxing of parts. I'd say you spend about 70% of your time sanding and waxing, about 20% assembling it, and about 10% trying to figure out why it's not working. Additionally, by assembling two mirror halves of the model plus the same caterpillar threads that match the two halves, the repetition of assembly leads to a state of utter boredom.
