Wright Products V2010WH TAP N GO PNUEMATIC Review

I have to give this 5 stars because it's a really good door closer. Just open the door and pull the lever. The door stays open. To close it, just push the door a little more and it closes. My son placed this in the middle of the screen door for easy access. I leave the door ajar so my small dog can get in and out without having to open the door for her (I'm disabled). It costs a few bucks more than the others, but has a nice white finish and is worth the extra money just for its simplicity.

Note that they have a very short lifespan! The fault lies in the plastic plug and the strike plate that holds the door open. The plastic cap will either break or come loose and fall off. This will result in the firing pin falling out and if not found immediately, the device will be lost, resulting in the device becoming inoperable due to the firing pin not being held in place. I bought 2 pieces and I'm very disappointed. The screw does not stay in the lock and the door closes quickly and heavily. I set the closing speed of the door with a thumbscrew on the end that just won't stall. It's the same for both lids I've bought. I keep adjusting the thumbscrew, but it keeps loosening and the door keeps slamming shut. These are aluminum storm doors and aren't very heavy so it looks like the latch will need to be reworked for them to work.

The closer itself doesn't seem bad. Problems thought it wouldn't close the door all the way (there is one at the top and one at the bottom) on the glass door. The kids haven't closed it several times now and as you can see the hardware isn't holding up as well as I had hoped. The old man kept pulling the screws out of the door and loosening them, so I installed oak blocks to screw them in. They held up great, but the mount wasn't that good. I liked it so much that I bought a couple for my screen doors to replace the old fashioned way of using a small metal clip or some A-Ma jig to attach must use it on the pole to keep the door open. This usually requires two hands. Then use both hands to push the device back to close the door.
