Description of 💡 PoE Texas GPOE-1B: Gigabit Passive PoE Injector - Combining 10/100/1000 Data and DC Power on RJ45 for PoE, 2.1mm x 5.5mm DC Connector Accepting 12-56v DC (Power Supply Excluded)

Instantly add PoE to your network switch or router. 10/100/1000 Gigabit capability with gigabit switch. Passive Mode B operation for use with IP security cameras, phones, wireless access points and more! PRO TIP: For devices with power specification of "12v, PoE" you will need a 44-56v power supply input to deliver PoE via the Ethernet cable. Use with 12-56 volt power supply (SOLD SEPARATELY). 2.1mm x 5.5mm DC connector fits most AC adapters. This product will pass through voltage that is equal to the input voltage. ie - 12v will deliver 12v on the Ethernet, 24v will deliver 24v and so on. Can also be used in reverse as a PoE splitter - Divide PoE into Power and Data Output. Backed by 1 year warranty - For expert technical support from Austin, TX please call 512 479 0317.

Good passive unit. Unfortunately, the power supply requirements are inherently confusing due to the various supported POE power supply standards. 48VDC is required for proper 802.3at POE (IIRC 56V may be required for long cables due to voltage drops). 12 VDC and 24 VDC are for devices that use industry standards such as B. Certain Cisco and Ubiquity devices. You will need to check your device's documentation to determine what type of power supply is required and therefore what power supply…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Good overall, but...

These injectors/splitters worked as expected. Note that unlike active injector/splitter pairs, these passive devices transfer current with the voltage applied to the injector, causing a long Ethernet cable to experience excessive voltage drop if it draws more than a few hundred milliamps . For example, 500 mA applied over a 100 foot 24 AWG ethernet cable will cause a 1.25 V drop, which probably wouldn't be acceptable for a 5 V device. For short cable runs or low current loads, these will work…

Choose your power supply carefully

This is a very stupid PoE injector. Not stupid like a bad injection, stupid like you're just one step away from connecting the power source to the cable. I was testing a Raspi4 setup with a Uniview camera when I was having trouble powering the camera via PoE, but PoE worked to power my Raspi. After a while with a multimeter I tracked this down when I plugged my power supply directly into the camera, it switched from nominal 12v to nominal 48v but this only fed the nominal 12v and never tripped…

Excellent PoE injector, the best among powerline network adapters

Excellent PoE injector. The kit does not include a power adapter, please be careful. I link it to http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EZ64HD6?redirect=true&ref_=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_68 and http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00N6W1HGU?psc=1 or similar http://www .ebay.com/itm/48VDC-AC-Adapter-For-NETGEAR-ProSafe-FS108P-FS108PNA-PoE-Switch-48V-Power-Supply-/301798947364?hash=item46449e7a24:g:O2oAAOSwstxVa9cX. All with a 5.5mm x 2.1mm 48V power supply that delivers around 2.0 amps of current. I can easily

Pay attention! The power supply is not included!

I've bought dozens of these over the years and didn't realize the power adapter wasn't included. But on the other hand, it will power any PoE device, even those that don't require 48 volts. Try connecting a 24v power supply to other POE injectors and in most cases they won't turn on. This one does. As for the rating. What is purity? I bought a PoE adapter, not pantyhose.
