Perfect home theater solution

This is the perfect solution to my outdoor speaker problems. I've tried using Bluetooth multiple times to add additional speakers near our dock and beach, but the music never synced to our boosted wired speakers. My Yamaha 7.2 receiver was at its peak, driving the entire house and deck speaker system. This allows me to add speakers to the dock and beach while still playing the same music in sync as everywhere. I can also save my living room from messing around with my loaded receiver by putting

Impressive little amp

Bought this with my 2nd gen Echo and a set of Bose 161 speakers in the kitchen. At the moment there was exactly what I wanted. I can control it with Alexa and easily stream music from Echo. I can also connect it to my living room stereo via MusicCast. The only issue I have is that I've set it to turn off after 2 hours of inactivity - a power saving feature I love. However, it turns off after two hours even when I stream audio to it via Bluetooth. You would think that the amplifier would take…

Great sound with some flaws

I bought this amp to drive some bookshelf speakers. I was a bit skeptical as I'm used to class A/B amps but the power rating seems to be accurate and made my speakers sound a lot louder than I want to hear. The sound is great, no hissing, pops etc. And a little more bass than I expected. My frustration is with some of the more advanced features like Bluetooth, which rarely seems to whiz, and the wifi sound is useless for my personal preferences. While the build quality of the block itself is…

Great compact amplifier with multiroom capability

I am writing this review mainly because I think this product is great and I need more advertising in the multiroom universe. It's perfect for people who want to build their own system but don't fall into the trap of a proprietary system (Sonos). Thing is powerful, I've tried it with the small Audioengine P4 and my main Bowers and Wilkins CM5, had no problems at all. I was particularly struck by the authority of the bass, especially its size. I used to have the NAD D 3020 and it scores in every…

Hope for improvements with the next firmware update.

Adding a star. Still in use a few years after the original review and many of the bugs are gone. The synchronization is much better than before. Now it also works with Revain Echo. First Verification - With the latest firmware I've found that if I turn on streaming from iTunes the unit will play staccato until I turn off streaming to MusicCast to another input and then turn it back on. . I have 3 of these and this happens with all of them including the preamp only version. After that, the amp…

Lack of features - otherwise a great music player, but overpriced.

This product is great and easy to use through the app. I love that my surround sound systems and occasional ceiling speakers have a common place to play in the app. I wish they had the option to split the speaker output into two zones, but that's not the main issue. Minus - the price. I think they upped the price because the Sonos equivalent is very expensive. I also bought the R-N303 and I think they both do the same thing, the R-N303 has twice the speaker options, lots of other features but a

Great hardware, a bit disappointed with the app

Based on my extensive past experience with Yamaha devices, I chose this amp over a comparable Sonos device. When I unpacked it I was surprised and impressed at how heavy it is for its size. The buttons (and knob) feel nice and the box stays in place when you interact with it. (Household trouble: devices that move when you press buttons.) Connections were easy, and the manual explains the process fairly well. I had some trouble setting up the app on my Samsung Note 10. When trying to connect the

A fusion of quality and possibilities. Thank you YAMAHA!

I don't usually write reviews, but this amp met my special needs so well that I want to give my satisfaction by "voting" that similar products remain available. I've recently started venturing into entry-level "audiophile" territory - first with a pair of Pioneer SP-FS52s; and now the KEF Q350 - so I was looking for an amp that would allow me to get the most out of my speakers and act as a hub for my audio/video activities. I'm happy to report that the WXA-50 fits the bill perfectly. I found…
