I hate spending a lot of money on a nice wooden yarn bowl that's probably too small and will break easily if a kid (or I) drops it. I took a chance little fella and I'm glad I did. It can hold a fairly large ball of yarn, it's lightweight but won't tip over, and it has a rubber foot so it won't slip on a table or other flat surface. Exactly what I was looking for...something to help hold the yarn in place while I'm using it. I really like this yarn bowl. It holds the balls of yarn or skeins of yarn and keeps them in one place while I work with them. The ball of yarn/cake just moves safely in the bowl and stays clean. No more balls of yarn flying across the floor picking up dust and fluff. The product description said the bowl was 6 x 6 x 2.9 inches, so I knew it would work for cakes and balls of yarn. Even we knitters love this item! my yarn shop' could be the answer to your prayers. Look, I've been trying to make some bowls out of yarn with my own hands. That's after I've finished wrestling with balls of yarn/cakes and cats, the damn Dusting and chasing critters around the house. I've used bowls from all materials, paperclips, once even cut an old bowl out of plastic utensils. What a mess. Thought about the price, I'll try.
