I doubt you'll find a better set for the price. Just don't use the provided instructions as advice on the game rules - they are incomplete and vague. But the set is a joy to play with - the plastic checkers appear well weighted due to the magnetization, and the silver squares help the white checkers stand out in checkers.

The board is made out of pretty decent plastic (you get what you pay for) as my criterion was a compact board with magnetic elements. The magnets hold up well as we used them on a camping trip and the board wasn't quite level in the tent. I ended up having to use my little ziploc bag to hold the parts kit and also wish it came with a locking mechanism or latch to keep the board flat when open.

Great set, especially for the price. Makes a robust and well-made impression. The magnets aren't strong enough to wring, but they hold up well when traveling. We bought it for a long flight and can't wait to use it. The only thing missing is storage space for tokens that you don't use when the board is open. I have now ordered two of these chess sets, I have liked both. The first set was used a lot, but then I left it in the car for a week, right under the back window in the summer, and the box melted so much that it became unusable.
