Works best in carburetors

This carb works well and was ready for a 1988 YJ 4.2L. One thing, and that's on me, is that it doesn't have the option to install a fuel mixture stepper motor.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works perfectly! - Fuel System

Transition from a 3-piece carburetor to the new YJ 2barrel. What a huge difference! I screwed it on straight away, everything that had to be hooked in went on. Haven't even touched the settings yet. My jeep is running great!

Pros
  • Hands Free
Cons
  • Modernity

Unbelievable cost of carburetor

I was impressed when I unpacked this carburetor. The castings were flawless and the machining was very pleasant. Started without problems, car started easily. After a short break-in period, this was easily adjusted. Unbelievable for this price. A restored original costs $275 plus a base fee.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Non-Automatic

The product fully corresponded to the description in the advertisement.

Looks like it really is a new product at a fraction of the cost of a refurbished one. Screwed it in straight away and only required additional steps to set up the electric auto choke control and idle speed control. This carburettor was a replacement for a completely worn out original carburettor on a 4.2 liter jeep engine and works great.

  • Sturdy construction

Who cares what that carb did for me. Surprised it's cheap.

My 1989 Jeep Islander now idles great. I'm still tweaking the throttle a bit, but overall I like it. I had to change the full throttle switch bracket and tape over the unused stepper motor wiring. Everything else fitted perfectly. I also had to adjust two idle screws. I had a little problem with it because my idle speed was too high. I should have corrected that first. After some fiddling everything is fine! For your information. This carburetor does NOT have a stepper motor.

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen
