It's worth the extra time to set up, don't give up. You will receive this

I have just restored two back panels using these kits. They're a pain in the ass trying to figure out what shims are needed to get the correct inches and pounds of preload. Installing and removing the gear until you get the right shim combination is going to take some time and a lot of trial and error. But it's really nice when you get it right and never pinch your sleeves again, so it's worth the extra time and effort.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quality

WRONG PART in the adjustment bushings

Although the picture gives hope that this is a genuine axle endplay shim kit for a solid axle, it is NOT. It is (probably) designed for two-piece axles. To eliminate endplay and PRELOAD the thrust bearing, I have the machine shop grind down a standard bearing spacer to about .050" thick and place it between the outside of the bearing. Race and unmodified seal. I've already sanded the standard disc about .250" thick, but if it's thinner, it slips under the belt sander's fence. Watch out for…

  • Great for outdoor activities

to be honest. Seems harder to work with than crimp bushing

This set has allowed me to get the preload right, but a thousandth of an inch makes a big difference so it's hard to get it right. It took me a lot of trying on and found it more time consuming than using a ferrule but I think this is the best long term solution. My original gear set failed because the pinch bushing wrinkled a bit and eventually damaged the gear bearings. I recommend this if you don't mind an extra check of the equipment. Also remember that somewhere in the spec you have to…

Yukon Gear & Axle (SK 702005) Dana 44HD differential seal replacement kit

If any other Jeeper can recommend anything, I have 12 different thickness seals for this kit; 0.113 – 0.116 – 0.120 – 0.121 – 0.124 – 0.127 – 0.130 – 0.133 x 2 – 0.137 – 0.139 – 0.142 ), so I read different opinions, contradicting the questions asked. So I took the risk of ordering with no certainty but in the end with great relief and satisfaction I received the shim kit I need to rebuild the Dana 44 HD rear axle on my 2002 WJ 4.7L. A big hello to everyone from Jeeper in France

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • ugly packaging

A very unpleasant product.

Although useful, it takes a very long time for 3 reasons that can be easily fixed. The first and most obvious is that they aren't laser marked, so you need to be constantly measuring and not just checking to see if they've been marked. Second, the shim combination was wrong because everything you added resulted in even numbers, for example I had 0.004 and 0.008, then I had 2.012 and 0.020. I needed more like 0.003, 0.005 or 0.011 to better suit your needs. I was either too tight or too loose…

Seems to work pretty well

Reviews are everywhere. They fit my 2013 F150. like some people bought them for transmission bearing clearances and all sorts of other things. This set contains 2 seal packs, each containing approximately .340 seals. Each pack of spacers has a left and right spacer of about .050 or .075, one of which has a lip to hold a bundle of thin .005 spacers. Select the left pad, add some thin pads and pick up the right pad. . Measure. Install another pack of seals for the other side of the trunk. Install

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Be wary of advertised fitment

I have a 2005 TJ Unlimited with a Dana 44 rear end which are washers that go on the outside of the main bearings. I checked Yukon's own website to make sure they (SK 30214) are compatible with my car, but when they arrived it's a style that fits the holder on the inside of the bearing and not the body. This caused me great difficulty for several reasons. 1. I had to dig pretty deep on the forums before I knew you could safely use the old "rear bearing" style seals, 2 I had to buy additional…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have opted for a newer model
