I decided to try these lamps. Have seen good reviews. I started with only 4 lamps. The instructions were followed verbatim. I connected everything and even put a built in fuse in between for protection. I plugged in a car battery and immediately smelled a horrible smell of burnt electronics. Yeah, I sort of fried the board. I went through every wire and connection to make sure I didn't expose anything. I have a JKU 08 and thought I needed upgrades based on the reviews. Turns out I only needed 1 for the front driver's side. I marked the wires to go through the floor plugs. I drilled a hole big enough for the wire to go through. I will fill any small gaps with masking tape or hot glue. I left the control box in the car under the passenger seat and routed the power wires back through the floor plug behind the fender to the battery.
