Ideal set for flashing.

Needed to refill a broken 10-24 thread on my air compressor. This little kit isn't usually sold in stores (I've searched carefully!). I found the inserts but not the special faucet needed for them. This kit has everything you need at a lower price than buying the inserts and tap separately. The compressor has been repaired and has been running great for two weeks now.

Cons
  • Lightly dented

Installation tool broken in stock

I had a thread on a machine part that I wanted to repair with this product. After drilling the hole with a drill (which was not included), I cut the hole and inserted the EZ Coil threads. When turning the knob on the installation tool, the head broke off, ruining the part I was trying to fix. The faucet and thread inserts seem ok but the quality of the installation tool sucks.

Pros
  • Size: #8-32 thread size, .164 inch installation length
Cons
  • Exorbitant price

Fixed crack hole in bike crank

With this kit it took me about 20 minutes to repair a cracked bracket in the crank where the pedal bolts in. At least a quarter turn for every half turn, and when inserting the spool into a freshly cut line, insert the correct end of the spool with the tool and push in slightly. Based on some of the reviews I've seen, I think some people put the spools/inserts in backwards.

You do the job; I plan on breaking a few

I used this product to re-cut a plastic electrical box circa 1995 after a screw broke on removal and ended up having to be drilled out. I managed, but these #6-32s are inevitably so brittle that I broke the mounting tab on two of them during installation; the third worked. I would have preferred if the set used a regular part drill rather than a numbered machine drill. Also, it's a solid solution, probably stronger than a new one, and I didn't have to disassemble the wall.

Good product but listing is missing key details about the extra drill bit

This kit has allowed me to repair the 3/16-20 tripod head mounting hole threads. The product information does not state that you need a 25/64 inch drill bit for this repair. I received this kit in a day or two, but then it took another 3-4 days to receive the drill after reading the instructions. The size of drill required will likely vary between kits, but it would be helpful to the prospective buyer if the supplier included this important information in the product details. Had this…

The included faucet is cheap/junk. Do not buy.

That would be a good product if the faucet didn't break right away! I've been designing and building things my whole life so I'm not new to using a crane. I just repaired a cast aluminum steering wheel adapter. I custom tapped the box, lubricated the hole and tap with a magic tap, oil for cutting the tap. And once I had about 3 threads I had 0 effort on the faucet and heard it break. I was able to pull it out and at the cut line where it broke you can clearly see either the impurities in the…

Are the TPI taps wrong?

I am using a 32 tpi meter. I checked the gauge on a 10-32 inch bolt. The STI crane does not snap into place like in the photo. The faucet says 10-32. I called the company and they sent me a new kit with the same problem. I've googled STI and TPI taps etc but can't figure out if I'm doing something wrong? I went ahead and tried pasting. I inserted the spool into the aluminum threaded hole by gently pushing and pulling on the locking ring as shown in the instructions. Tried a 10-32 screw and it…
