Junk - save money

It arrived first and has no eyelets. Second, it's rigid and isn't a blanket, more like a piece of cardboard. .Oatley does what I'm going down the path.

Pros
  • Heavy Duty
Cons
  • Zero

Buy Dicker with sockets

Burnt out and unusable after soldering once. You'll need grommets, so if you have a tree overhead, you can hang it with a screw, nail, or hook. That kept the heat in, but it would glow red too soon and eventually wear out.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Fantastic fire barrier. Abrasion when wet

Excellent flame retardant solder barrier in faucet closets and tight spaces against insulation or pins! However, when it got wet, it began to crumble and delaminate. Will definitely buy another one but use more cautiously for dry applications.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • I will add later

It has more floor space than the Oatey, which costs a few dollars more at Home Depot & Lowes. I think the oatey is 9" x 9". The extra space might help. But without eyelets. What is shown here was exposed to MAP (yellow spray) gas. It's pretty hot stuff. Was working on installing a shower valve. I could put the heater back on propane. Seems better for sweating.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons

Good fire barrier, slippery fabric, doesn't last long.

Refractory part works very well. However have found that if you overheat your work it gets a little brittle! The weave is quite slippery and won't withstand large movements like trying to push it through a tight turn in a turn. basement. In addition, the outer seam burns, which also leads to wear. Both bushings failed due to wear within the first hour of operation.

Pros
  • Excellent
Cons
  • Some bugs

Using a flashlight in a confined space adds an extra layer of anxiety. I use it wherever there is a risk of ignition of adjacent surfaces. The mat heats up but minimizes the risk to nearby objects. My old floor mats were worn down from years of use so it's time to replace them. Add Nu-Calgon to this heatsink (https://smile.amazon.com/NU-CALGON-Heat-Sink-Compound-Paste/dp/B07HLZJNQ9/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=calgon+heatsink&qid=1612547119&sr=8 - 2) and you can safely work with heat near…

Real Welding Equipment Review

It has pads, the review says it shouldn't be bad, yes it smokes (don't use it for chimneys and such), it protects great - I tested it by putting a plate underneath and installed on the concrete, and then light it with a tap flame for about 30 seconds. and it didn't damage/burn the sheet at all. the seams on the edges are not flame retardant and without them they will wear out badly. I got worried seeing all the bad reviews but thought I'd give it a try anyway. .btw propane burns at just under…

Pros
  • VERSATILE AND EASY TO USE: Each Newtex PlumberPad includes easy-to-use brass bushings for easy hanging anywhere. With a thin 0.06 inch profile, this rug fits into tight spaces. Newtex PlumberPads that can do more!
Cons
  • Something else

Works very well - safety feature

I used this to avoid catching fire on the fiberglass tub and bolts when replacing the shower valve. If you hit it directly with propane it will start to "melt". So if you can't avoid a direct explosion with a flare, this is a one-time thing. I bought two and folded them in half so I had four levels of protection. When I was done with the solder, the 1st layer was completely burned, the 2nd layer was charred black, the 3rd and 4th layers were hot to the touch but not damaged or hot enough to…

Pros
  • EASY TO USE: No matter what the job, our plumbing towels are the right tool. They are ideal for brazing, soldering, welding, blowtorch and iron supports, protecting hard-to-reach areas in piping or high-temperature projects!
Cons
  • No Instructions
