Suitable for Reptiles and Amphibians

Suitable - I recently changed my turtle substrate. It does the job but isn't preferred over other brands I've tried. If I have to buy again

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Use in reptile cages. Cheaper than the local pet store

After researching this, put the turtle in a box and all pet stores use these in their reptile cages. We tried mud but it just got moldy. I bought some moss from the dollar store and he loves to burrow into the moss. In general, the turtle is much happier.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Something different

Worth the money in bedding

I purchased this bark as a component for my ABG-inspired tropical substrate. It appears to be bark of excellent quality, good size and varied in texture. There are no mites or vermin or mold or anything like that in my bark bag. It's a good deal, there's a lot of bark in the pocket and it hasn't emptied my wallet. I am definitely satisfied with my purchase.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Quick instructions

I love this reptile substrate

Zilla is the best. Even if my reptile turns over a bowl of water, the water never gets moldy or smells bad. Every order every month for my many critters like Tegu and Bouncing Frog. If I change their cages every week or week and a half, I throw the used bark into my garden. I love that I don't have to throw it away and can use it as a mulch afterwards.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • High price

YOU get more for your money!

I was completely blown away by the size of the bag. (Yes, I know, it's entirely my fault for assuming it was at least near a reasonable amount.) To sum it up, I've bought shoes that came in shoe boxes that were larger than the box , in which the bag arrived. . There was no point even putting it in my 50-gallon reptile habitat: it wouldn't even form a flat layer on the underside. I ended up just tossing it in some potted plants outside to keep moisture in the soil. This annoyed me even more…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Minor issues
