Too much moisture.: Terrarium mat, sand and substrate

Bought for Sulcata as substrate. I didn't like how much moisture remained even after drying outdoors. Probably good for a more tropical breed. However, neither mites nor mold were found. I would have liked better humidity control in the turtle enclosure.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Doubtful

Don't buy online!

My snake got ticks after using this! Idk, is it because I bought it from Amazon or is it because I have a bad batch? but my poor dragon, are you kidding? Now he's being treated, but how important that is. will never buy this again.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Crumpled

Great for my crested gecko

I use it as the top layer for my crested gecko's habitat as it's larger and less likely to be accidentally eaten on top of the fine coconut mulch I use as a base (because it is really cheap and retains moisture). I love this material so much that I could switch to it, but at a slightly higher price.

Pros
  • Excellent overall
Cons
  • Minor issues

Mosquito bugs (Drosophila) like it, but I don't.

I have tried this bedding twice in the last 4 months and it has attracted mosquitoes both times! I've been using a basic coco brick mix for my box turtle for over 2 years with no problems so I wanted to mix it up just before Christmas and see if it would hold the humidity in the tank better. This forest floor holds moisture well, but I recommend using it OUTDOORS on plants, not indoors. As soon as 2-3 weeks had passed I noticed a few mosquitoes (both times!). Of course, I crushed them as soon…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Hard to say
