Never had a problem with reptiles and amphibians

Some reviews say they fade quickly within days but mine has always lasted months. This may be because I keep all my lights on dimmers to better control the heat.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Drives me crazy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ephemeral but warm and cozy

So far a lightbulb hasn't lasted as long as I'd hoped but for what it is they work well. I haven't checked if they are unbreakable or not, but I won't. The tortoises seem content with this and happily spend a lot of time within about 7 inches.

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Will be added later

good for the price in heat lamps

I've been through many of these over the years. They hit and missed. sometimes they last a long time and sometimes they burn out quickly. My devices move around a lot so to be honest some of the short lived ones might be my fault. For the price I will continue to buy them. They keep my reptiles roasted

Pros
  • looking forward to
Cons
  • embarrassing

Good lamp for a good price.

Works as advertised at a great price. I bought 3 sets and they usually last 4 to 6 months, at least 2 months. Mine works 14 hours a day or 420 hours a month. Most commercial reflector bulbs are rated for an average life of 1500-2000 hours. So if I can use each bulb for an average of 4-5 months then they are within most manufacturers specs.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Good quality and useful: Heat lamps

I use these lamps in my red-eared turtle lamp. This is a 20 gallon aquarium and offers plenty of light and heat through the wire mesh panel. Arrived in good condition and has lasted a long time. A 2-pack is handy because if one burns out you have a backup and can order another pair. I also went with 50 watts just to keep my electricity bills down and using it 8 hours a day doesn't seem to add to our electric bills.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Something else

Good lamp but not for long.

Bought 2 packs of 50w bulbs for use with Zoo Med Deluxe Porcelain Clamp Lamp and the first bulb had already burned out. It lasted 15 days. This is on a timer and 13 hours a day. Let's see how well the second lamp does before I consider ordering it again. You would think they would last longer. ***EDIT** I put in a second bulb and it lasted 7 months. Just upgraded my rating to 3 stars. ** Would be 4-5 if both bulbs lasted that long!

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Neutral
