10-inch ZWILLING Accessories Sharpening Steel, Black/Stainless Steel Review

I don't like this tool very much. The knives don't seem to sharpen. will continue to use the review and update as necessary.

Sturdy and well built. It feels like a quality product and has the weight you would expect from a good steel. This is a nice addition to my knife block.

After I've sharpened my knives with a whetstone, I use this whetstone to condition the blade. I feel like the staff also sharpens my blade, so I don't feel the need to sharpen my knives as often as I used to.

When opened on Christmas day this item appeared used although I did purchase a new one. There is rust or something on the handle. I gave one star because the item was sold new and arrived used/damaged.

This is a wonderful tool. I have been a professional chef for many years and have used a grinder at work on a daily basis. I don't need 12 inch steel to sharpen my knives and I don't like oval steel. The oval handle is very comfortable and the grinding surface itself is excellent. A great addition to a good pencil sharpener. Together they keep good knives sharp for a lifetime or two.

Steel works great. I was surprised to see a rust spot(?) on the handle. I sent it back. Ordered and got a replacement. There was also a rust spot on the metal strip on the replacement handle. I leave the steel and try to get rid of the rust on the metal strip on the handle. I give 4 stars because the steel itself sharpens well. Has anyone else seen rust on the metal strip on the handle?

Purchased for finishing knives after sharpening on bars. I could always make my knives very sharp, but not sharp enough for shaving. This product solved that problem and all my knives are razor sharp after sharpening them with this sharpener. Great product, not oval but that's not a problem for me. Simply change the description to an oval pen instead of an oval refill to avoid getting bad reviews for an inaccurate product description.
