Some people think that crypto wallets store cryptocurrency literally. That would be true, because this is how the wallet in your pocket works. Unfortunately, this is not the case. Instead, cryptocurrency wallets simply store information about the cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrencies only exist in huge databases called ledgers. These vaults are the records of every cryptocurrency transaction ever committed. The most popular type of cryptocurrency register is called blockchain. Cryptocurrency can be moved within the blockchain, but it will never leave it. You cannot withdraw all your coins and take them home!
