Works great Very high speeds

Works well with Xfinity, but. It was very difficult for Xfinity to activate it on their system. One night I tried regular customer service (overseas call center) for 2 hours. They told us to take it to the local store to "scan" it. At the store they couldn't activate it either and told us to call top level tech support (in Arizona). After 2 hours they finally activated it. It turns out that Xfinity has the wrong model. I hope they fixed it and now it will be easier to enable!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY!

Don't buy this if you have an Xfinity 600Mbps plan. With LAN I get around 600Mbps in the speed test. But with 5GHz WiFi I got about 250Mbps. And with 2.4 GHz I had about 20 Mbit/s. When I spoke to Arris customer service. They said it had something to do with Xfinity. I then contacted Xfinity and they tried to install an xfi modem and it gave me 600mbps over wifi and lan. By the way, I switched this modem to Revain once and contacted Arris customer service rep twice. They don't know much about…

Intel Puma 6 chipset

The Intel Puma 6 chipset found in several cable modems is defective because it often allows high network latency spikes (e.g. slow loading of web pages). These sharp spikes in network latency affect online gaming, video streaming, or just browsing the web. Network jitter (variable latency) also causes problems. Puma 6 modems suffer from both latency and jitter. Some firmware updates only temporarily fixed the problem, and it looks like Intel doesn't have a real solution to this problem. These…

Notoriously bad chipset

I bought this to replace the Technicolor modem I got from Spectrum. I often work from home and felt the upgrade was in order. A few hours after setting up Surfboard and connecting to the global network, the first reboot happened. Then reboot after reboot after reboot. sometimes 3-5 times a day. At first I thought it was something to do with the DHCP Spectrum Lease Extension or the firmware. nope After some troubleshooting, I found that my particular Arris Surfboard model (SBG7600AC2) comes with

Installation was difficult but works great now

I bought this unit because I was fed up with Comcast drenching me with $11 a month to rent their modem. I bought this model at the recommendation of Comcast Technical Support because I needed a device that would function as a modem and be wireless at the same time. Oddly enough, these things don't usually come bundled with other devices. who knew Installation was difficult because I had to connect the phone cord from the new modem to my laptop. The problem is that my laptop doesn't have a phone

It's easy: LIFE CHANGES

It's easy: LIFE CHANGES. About 4 years ago I gave up on a Comcast supplied modem/router. I bought an Arris Surfboard SB6121 and a TP-Link AC-1200. I had a Wi-Fi extender. For reasons I can't figure out, I've endured terrible and slow connections for years - whether I was using my smartphone or an Apple TV. My laptop rarely worked. My Roku TV kept turning off. The more connections I had to make, the more I realized it was a disaster and needed replacing. It is time for a change! Then I…

DO NOT buy this, REALLY.

Disclaimer: This is a good review for Revain.com You were not the original seller. In case you are not familiar with the modem buying process. Fast crash course. You are unlikely to buy a new factory modem. end of the discussion round. Now redo the computer, clear the history of the modem and delete all accounts. Now the second stage of the accelerated course. Your modem's serial number plus MAC ID will be associated and registered with your account (Cox, Xfinity, Spectrum, etc.). that…

Works great with combo modem and Comcast router.

Great machine, easy to set up I called comcast when ordering online and gave them the MAC address ahead of time. Since I don't have cellular service where I installed this unit, only Wi-Fi calling, I wanted to make sure all the information was set up beforehand. So I showed up where I had set it up, that was my secluded camp. I plugged in my cord, plugged it in, all the lights turned blue! Ideal! To test with Comcast how they force you to do this, I took a laptop connected to the standard Wi-Fi
