great tripod, not too expensive.

I was looking to upgrade my landscape photography tripod and thought the Benro could be a very good option. Having used this tripod on a recent trip, I'm very glad I bought it. This is an easy to use, durable tripod that works very well with the ball head. Quick-release legs make installation easy, and the carrying case accommodates the installed ballhead (although it's too long for a standard 21" or 22" suitcase), making it easy to transport in the car. I don't find the weight of an aluminum…

This is good for holding a 15# long range rifle without .

Pros: It's stronger than expected due to its light weight which is good for holding a long range 15" rifle without extended leg extensions. But even with the next larger leg stretched out, it is still very durable. The lengthening of the next two leg extensions does not allow for smooth long-range shooting. But for use with a camera, that's more than enough. Reliable flip locks. Reliable locking mechanism on the center column. Cons: The tabs that lock the legs at different angles should…

Not suitable for outdoor use in salty environment/locations

I have had a Benro Adventure 3 Series carbon fiber tripod with B3 ball head (TAD38CB3) for 3 weeks. Overall quality is as advertised. Vibration dampening leaves a lot to be desired. I've been using it alongside sea water for the past three days. But even after rinsing with fresh water and drying, the leg clips start to deteriorate. Benro uses low quality aluminum for the foot clips. Such aluminum breaks down into powder in a salty environment. See image for a close-up of the foot clip. The…

Top 3 Monopods of All Time

I'm a big fan of monopods. I currently own 3.3 of the best monopods ever made. This is one of them. Beaten only by the same carbon fiber that I have. I teach photography at university and I advise all my students to get this or the carbon fiber version. You need fliplocks, not twistlocks. Believe me. The less it weighs, the better. The shorter it can be when compressed, it's a feature, albeit not a very important one, on my list. The higher the better. Do you really want a monopod taller than…

Excellent medium duty tripod for the money!

Personally I paid $80 for mine. Great tripod for medium loads. Rugged enough for any shooting situation, except perhaps when using an extra long and heavy 600mm telephoto lens with 600mm. It would probably be ok with the right gimbal head, but personally I would like something a little more beefy for that. But for everyday shots with a 300mm or wide-angle lens? That's a great tripod! Very light and compact. The locks on the legs are very tight, they really lock and the legs are very strong…

Bigger and heavier than expected - Wonderful!

I have an Adventure 2 Benro aluminum tripod with a B2 ball head, it's sturdy, strong and light enough to carry around. I've now bought an Adventure 4 Benro aluminum monopod and am using a Beike ball head with a locked swivel. This momopod is about an inch and a half in diameter - much heavier than I expected. I'm 6ft tall and way taller than I've ever used so I'll do as they say and not open each full length section. It's like a club! And can be used for self-defense when you are being chased…

Great monopod for the money

This review is for the Series 4 Aluminum Monopod (PN MAD49A). The first thing I checked was if it would fit in a domestic airline approved carry-on bag. Yes, you have to go diagonally for it to work, but it fits. Based on this first-hand observation, some people are unhappy with the fact that the monopod is too long when folded, which probably won't be a problem for most. The monopod is very well built, with a comfortable ski pole-like wrist strap. The included single ball mount rubber foot can

Monopod quality and value

I bought this tripod as a travel tripod for mounting a full size DSLR with lens. Easily holds my heaviest telephoto zoom lens and camera. In contrast to my 3-series Induro ball head, the Benro ball head does not come out of the horizontal position when the ball head is clamped. The Benro ball head is much smaller than the 3 Series Induro ball head and offers much better performance. And the triple action clamp base is a brilliant feature. How many times have you accidentally turned the base…

Love it but with one caveat

I've been using Benro "Travel Angel" for many years. While this is a great tripod - you can't beat it for size and strength - the twist-lock legs often caused me to cut myself - especially when working in uneven, rocky environments. This is not an attack on Benro. I have a beautiful Gitzo tripod that sits in the closet and doesn't get used, mainly for the same reason (twist lock legs (it's pretty heavy too)). Dream. It takes up a bit more space than the Travel Angel, but I'm not swearing by a…
