Just like 1-2-3 on networking products

We bought this ethernet switch because we needed a solution to wire multiple devices from a range extender into a single ethernet connection. After some research, I chose the D-Link version over the TP-Link version based on the many positive reviews, price, and limited lifetime warranty. I hope I can solve the problem if this thing works when connected to a range booster and not a real router. I haven't had any issues with this ethernet switch since receiving it and I'm glad it works as…

Reliable switches and easy setup

I've been a long time fan of D-Link products. When I upgraded my home Internet to a 100Mbps line, my 20-year-old switches struggled to keep up with the amount of traffic. I bought two of these D-Link switches, one for my home office and one for my office where I have a few non-WiFi devices. Setup couldn't be simpler - true plug and play. All ports auto-negotiate speed based on your home or office network and no Ethernet crossover cables (if applicable) are required as the ports will also detect

Rugged Gigabit Switch

Good morning America, Obama is back. Just recently switched from Comcast 400/20 to ATT Fiber 1000/1000 and didn't want to use crappy ATT gateways. Thanks to the DSLReports forums, I learned that I could use this inexpensive device as a "dumb switch" and bypass the ATT gateway entirely. I plugged this device directly into the ONT, which then powers my wireless router and other gigabit switches. It's powered by a UPS and has been running my gigabit network for a month and a half with no outages…

D-Link 5 Port Gigabit Switch

Boy this ethernet switch is small, fits almost anywhere and works so far but I just got it so only time will tell. To really take advantage of the speed, I'd have to replace all my Category 5 Ethernet cables with Category 6 cables, which I'm not ready or willing to do. I get 90-93 Mbps for large file transfers on my network so can't really complain. I checked my system, and only one of my three laptops has a Gigabit Ethernet port, which limits data transfer rates to just under 100Mbps. I found…

D-Link, have been using it for years, all my home infrastructure

I've been using D-Link since I bought my first 5-port Gigabit Ethernet switch in 1997 for high-speed Internet access. 3com was a big boy back then, but a gigabit switch was very expensive. D-Link was affordable and that's how my relationship with them started. The first switch I bought from them had a fan and the fan failed after a few years which was painful but I lived with it until it died. I never replaced the fan but never encountered any issues where the fan stopped working so I guess I…
