I have just purchased a DeLonghi EW7707 Radiator Heater and I can only say that it is excellent. I have a terraced house and the basement, where my child likes to play and we all watch TV, is usually very cold in the winter compared to the floors above. The basement is big and has a staircase, but this not so big heater keeps it very warm (between 68 and 70 degrees). What I do is set it to high without running ComforTemp and then when the temp is about 68 I lower the thermostat until it clicks…

Fire hazard - explosion in our bedroom, hot oil splattering everywhere

delayed exactly 6 days but that's not even a problem here - it's a FIRE HAZARD. This morning it exploded with a loud hiss, spattering hot oil all over my wife's feet, the carpet, the walls, my bed. Our 1.5 month old daughter who sleeps in her cot in our bedroom slept in the room and luckily my wife was awake to pull the cord, open the windows and get our daughter out of the room. a mist of hot oil that she soon washed away with water. Her first reaction was to unplug and lead our daughter out…

The best oil heater!

I bought this DeLonghi oil heater for three reasons. 1) I prefer a radiator heater to a heater that blows hot air. The oil filled units heat up consistently, don't dry out as much and I don't constantly dust my furniture as the constant blast of air is very similar to a whole house hot air system which luckily I don't! Heating the baseboard is much better for even heat and no dust, especially if she's sensitive to it. NOT a fan of constant dust 2) It's getting colder soon and the stove needs…

The best radiators I've ever had.

I've had several of these over the last few decades. I have never worn or broken. I would sell them when I don't need them and buy them again when I need them, like now. They are much safer than those with elements that heat up, things that can ignite clothing, curtains, and anything else that can catch fire. They heat a large area and are economical. I have a 32 foot trailer that I needed to keep cool this winter and didn't want to leave the propane stove on and unattended. I already had one…

Good units and no assembly

I have five oil heaters and four mica plates, all DeLonghi. I have just ordered two ComforTemp oil heaters. These oil-filled ComforTemps come fully assembled, which is a nice touch. They also come in handy packaging, which is great (after *trying* to remove the plastic wrap from the mica sheets). Just open the box, slide it out, unfold the four legs and plug it in. The controls are simple. Two pin plug. The orange LED lights up all the time when the device is active. The four wheels roll…

Very good product when used correctly

Very good product when used correctly. People subconsciously receive them with false expectations. This is NOT a powerful forced air heater. It produces sustained "radiant heat". I will describe my use. This is the advantage of such a heater. Constantly turning it off and on doesn't do anything. Let him heat the room, then turn up the thermostat and go. I built a work shed 12x16, completely insulated (walls R13, ceiling R19). The front double doors are uninsulated and somewhat airy. I used the…

Great heater except for a few minor issues

We used two of these to heat the master and baby bedrooms on cold Chicago nights. We have recently moved into a house which is of course harder to heat compared to our previous 2 bedroom apartment. That's where these heaters come to the rescue. We lower the oven thermostat to the minimum so it doesn't work more than once a night. One of these heaters is powerful enough to keep a large bedroom cozy with only the minimum power (700W; 1500W maximum) and a thermostat set to 3 (up to 6). In the…
