Easy to use. in Power Tools

Works great! Used some clamps to attach it. Ideal for VW Type 4 heads. Robust compact unit. If you work a lot for VW, this is a must.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Appearance

Part not finished properly

The holes on the side mounts were too small for the stock, needed some sanding. The spring mount wasn't level, I had to sand the sides to assemble it.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not as good as it says

Almost the best valve train tool

Works well but I had to clean the 2 rectangular blocks at the base that support the valves. I increased a little in all corners so as not to scratch the combustion chambers. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Guard

There is a $15 charge for returning a defective part.

Item was damaged in shipment (Christmas present). Arranged a return/refund through Revain. The seller charged $15 to return a defective item. Now I get no reply by email or phone. I do not recommend.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Be prepared to fix it before using it

The tool does not work immediately. The long pole holes were too small for the pole to go through. Requires modification to work. Pos. Only buy if you can repair it yourself. I mean how hard is it trying to put a pole in a hole. Really poor quality control and only enough spot welds to hold it up. It could be better.

Pros
  • Quick change
Cons
  • Almost never

Poor Quality Control

Same problem as Mr. Murphy. The cross shaft was too big to fit through the holes provided. Also, the part that goes to the valve spring retainer had to be cleaned to allow it to rotate properly. Has sharp edges on the blocks going under the valves that can squeeze out the combustion chamber. The quality control is terrible and you will spend quite some time modifying a new tool to make it work properly.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
