good for what they are. good carrying case

Robust construction and good performance. None of the bits messed with the screws or themselves, so that's a good thing. They snap easily into my wrench, but not too easily. I can not complain. They are good for reaching hard-to-reach places.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Doubt

Spend a little more money. Get the best quality.

I rarely use these tools and never take on a large project because I usually lack such knowledge. I figured since I use these tools most of the time for light and infrequent jobs this set will suffice. I was wrong. The T-27 broke down on first use. I haven't used the others yet, but I'm skeptical.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Out of fashion

Okay for the price of the individual motorized sockets

Okay for the price, I wouldn't pay more for it. The T40 tends to flex when turning, which doesn't allow for accurate torque with a torque wrench (25 ft lbs). I had to use a T40 bit with a thicker shank to get accurate torque. I would recommend this for occasional light use but not in an automotive environment. Don't expect snap-on quality/durability from them.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for older people

Keep an eye out - Custom Sockets

This kit was purchased specifically for the T30 to remove the footpegs from the assembled vehicle. The second screw broke. Best guess is that the torque was somewhere in the high double digits or very low triple digits since I was using a 9-10 inch ratchet and am not exactly a powerhouse. I ended up running to a home storage facility for a wheeze (short walk), and while the short walk didn't work well for a third of the bolts (the ones that go through the bottom "lip" of the bodywork, sinceโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 110mm extra long bit for working in hard to reach places, beveled ends ensure a secure fit on the wrench to prevent slipping.
Cons
  • Expensive

Get Genuine Tool

So I'll start with the old clichรฉ: you get what you pay for. I only bought this whole set for the T45 I needed to remove two footpegs from my bike and it needed to be longer than what I had. I only use a ratchet, no power tools. I think there was some sort of Loctite on the screws, but I ran into this before with another screw that I was able to access with the T45 short shaft I already had. When I tried to unscrew the second screw, it kept slipping, the end of the bit twisted. Now I've doneโ€ฆ

Pros
  • All Torx bits and sockets are engraved for easy identification and neatly stored in a clip-on case for portability.
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Powerstroke 6.0 Jets

Used for injector hold down screws on a 6.0 Powerstroke. I have an 06 so my bolts required T45. It worked perfectly at regular length for all injectors EXCEPT #5 and #7 on the passenger bench. The sentence was actually too long. Finally I took some measurements, put the bit in a vise, knocked part of the bit out of the socket, cut (I used a Dremel with a cutting disc) the bit 32mm shorter and put the bit back in the socket. After that it works perfectly for all injectors. Note that this mayโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Polished chrome finish for easy cleaning and high rust resistance.
