Nothing works better for doors

I recently replaced a solid door with a single lightweight all glass door and used it in 5 strips over a level sill that was 1/2 inch by 3 feet was . It's very sticky and hard to adjust if you get it wrong the first time you place it, so don't make a mistake. Hold on to the backing paper until you're ready to install the door, period. Then slowly take it off, especially if you are installing on an old window sill, and use a plastic handle or something similar to hold the ledge as you need to…

A good thing. Worked on an old RV.

I used this product to seal the corners of an old camper van. I had to replace some large rotten parts, but I was able to use the old fairing parts with new screws that were a bit longer and this tape. It is also commonly used around windows and doors. If you are not sure what it is used for. This product is similar to putty and is a "clamp seal". Your screws pull the finish against the wall panels and pinch the tape, creating a seal. It also seals the screws. I usually caulk the edges for…

easiest tape to use I've found so far

This is the third type of tape I've used for the project storage trailer. I first used light gray putty tape with very crumpled paper, then white XFasten butyl tape, and then this GSSI butyl tape. GSSI is by far the easiest to use. Wax paper is thick and smooth. The Xfasten was a good butyl, but when unrolling the wax paper stuck to the butyl and ripped, and my fingers got sticky trying to pry the paper out. The GSSI paper has never torn and the butyl dissolves wonderfully. The trick was to…

I wish I had known this many years ago!

I wish I had known that many years ago; I would have used it for miles now. I love when I can find something like this that outperforms anything I've used over the years. On recommendation I used this to seal the edges of a new sleeper boot. This material is superior to anything I have ever worked with. I simply rolled it around the perimeter of the opening, put a boot on top of it, and secured it with a screw every four inches, then another layer of this butyl putty, and then "clip" by…
