Thread repair made easy

Spiral Coils are the best way to repair stripped threads when you don't have the space to drill, tap and install a larger screw. If you absolutely must stick to the same screw size, this is the way to go.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Plenty of material

Super easy to use and works great

I bought this to fix a broken bolt in the transmission pan. Super easy to use and worked great. Outstanding product. I had to buy the necessary drill separately, but it wasn't difficult to find.

Pros
  • Used to fix threaded holes
Cons
  • Can't remember

Good product, bad service.

PRODUCT is in perfect condition. The problem was that because I work there I left clear instructions for the delivery of the product to my stable. does not follow the shipping instructions, what can the buyer do? Good product, BAD service!

Pros
  • Delivered in a box.
Cons
  • socket required.

Great product, saves time, saves parts.

Works better than I could have imagined. Problem: broken screw in the 289 timing case cover. I drilled and tried two different "simple exits" but they didn't work. There must be corrosion or the wrong thread size/pitch. Ordered with the matching drill. Selected the correct size drill bit, used an excellent quality tap, installed the mentioned spiral coil. I like that it fits the screw better than the rest of the holes. very glad I did not ah. You must remove the timing cover to repair it, b…

Helicoil, works as it should,

This particular size didn't work for me as the drill and tap size was too big for the diameter. for the material I repaired. Not Helicoil's fault, just a bad material challenge. However I was able to use my smaller spiral coil setup to do the repair, I just ordered a smaller screw and I'm sure I'll be fine. Helicoil makes a good product, the bottom snaps off just like it should. Just drill, tap, paste and you're back in business. People say you don't need threadlock etc to keep it in the hole…

Saved my intake manifold

The threads on the thermostat housing were stripped and my choice for the repair was to get a different manifold (replace by myself}, remove the manifold for much easier access (it's a 318 in a Dodge van) or repaired on site. The first 2 would not start due to the time and labor involved. With option 3 I had limited space above for the drill to drill the stripped threads. Luckily I had an angle adapter for my drill but the drill kept jamming so I found the smallest drill that would fit the…

Easy fix for beginners

I have a wheeled lawn mower with a brand new house and the exhaust manifold and muffler just hung off the cylinder head. One of the exhaust manifold studs was stripped and needed to be drilled out and the other stud was removed but the previous owner ruined the threads by installing the wrong screw in the hole. I was looking for alternatives to removing the head for drilling and tapping at a mechanical shop and found this handy kit. It was very easy. The tap indicated the drill size required…
