🔧 IRWIN VISE-GRIP Original Locking Pliers/Sheet Metal Tool, 8-Inch (23): Unparalleled Versatility and Precision Review

Irwin makes branded vise tools that are known for their durability and workmanship. I used this with a wide vise when installing the floor. Worked great, as did every other Vice Grip tool in my collection.

We used this to remove the wood stop in a double sash window. Because it has a wide handle, it didn't damage the wood. The instrument is made in Taiwan, which is still a free country, not the People's Republic of China. The quality is top notch.

The thread on the adjuster has a spot that cannot be adjusted with fingers. You will need pliers to twist it and overcome the stain in threads. I bought them and used them in my truck and when I used them I found that the threads were bad. It is very inconvenient that it cannot be adjusted with pliers. I bet not made in the USA.

Quality pliers with flat blades instead of regular jaws. I just wish these flat plates were a little bigger (both in depth and width). Note the size of some of Vice-Grip's locking C-Clamps, then realize that there are 6" (or larger) hand held sewing machines, but only those with a "3-1/8" jaw width and throat depth from 3-1/8". 1 -3/4 inch". As others have said, it will do a lot of the work, but would really like to see a larger version.

My wife forgot to lower the tailgate of her SUV before leaving the garage. As many reviewers have noted, this Irwin tool is prone to problems with concave jaw plates. My first from Revain did the same thing. It was so bad that it took full vise force to fully close the panels. Not good. The outer part of the jaw plate digs into the object before the center closes.
