THE BEST GAS CHANNEL! - Cans

Forget all those crappy plastic cans with "high-tech" safety spouts. Cheap plastic cans that expand and contract will break sooner or later. This is a durable metal tin with a superb finish. Reminds me of the glasses my dad got from his dad, except this one has a better finish! The only thing I can fault it for is the lack of a plug to insert the pouring spout. Yes, said other reviewers, just bend it. Well, it gets dusty and windy here. The downward bend does not prevent dust from entering…

Pros
  • Hazardous Materials Handling
Cons
  • Slightly Torn

Buy this. BUT don't fill 5 gallons

I was a little disappointed when I filled my new 5 gallon gas canister with fuel leaking inside Gas due to outside temperature. It was around 75F for about 3 hours in the back of my truck - not in direct sunlight. When I took the canister to fill up the dirt bikes I was surprised to smell the gas and to see a steady stream of gas (coming out of the filler hole) flowing over the body. I've only filled up about 4.5 gallons since then and the alt doesn't spill even in hot weather. Also, the fuel…

Pros
  • Ergonomically offset fill port with convenient lift lever makes refilling easier than ever Easy-to-use safe-squeeze trigger for precise fluid flow control
Cons
  • Damaged

I used a very old 1 gallon plastic can that had a cracked lid. When I was about to spend over $60 on a gas can I thought I was crazy; it pained me to extort money for something as simple as a gas canister. After looking at what was available in major stores and even online, I decided that I would simply spend the money on a canister that I hoped would last me a lifetime. cans with pivoting spout below; But for just $12 more, I decided that the all-metal construction, which meets OSHA safety…

Pros
  • Self-sealing lid keeps fumes and splashes out
Cons
  • Some bugs

The only way to safely store petrol (IMHO)

Like many people who store petrol, I've been using these cheap plastic containers for years and never got myself into them felt safe. You may have heard stories that they can break under pressure or even explode because they don't have spark arrestors in the spout. And plastic IS porous, so it can evaporate into the atmosphere over time. Read forum comments on later CARB-approved doses. They leak gas when trying to use them and are difficult to use without spilling - it doesn't help the…
