Forget plastic fuel filters, buy this METAL and cheaper

Fits perfectly on my 2001 Nissan Frontier with 230,000 miles and I replace the stock original fuel filter with this k&n ff. Remember to back up the Pull the fuel pump and start the car to use up the remaining fuel. It will stall to depressurize the fuel line. There will still be gas, but not much. Towels should suffice. Replace fuse and start. I'm glad it's metal, not cheap plastic. Will be updated with fuel economy advice.

Pros
  • Feel good
Cons
  • Modern

Failed to seal inlet side

When I started using this filter, the return period has expired. Can I not return the product with petrol? Anyway, I tried caulking the intake side and couldn't make myself believe that the intake hose notch was defective? I was lucky enough to have the WIX 33310 on hand which is their equivalent and it worked great with no leaks the first time! K&N usually does good things, but this time it must have been a bad one?

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Negative present

It worked great on my 2004 Nissan Xterra

It worked great on my 2004 Nissan Xterra. The nipple connectors are thinner than the OEM connectors, so I double clamped them with additional hose clamps to ensure a tight connection. 1 star deducted for that. I have 112,030 miles on this Xterra and will probably replace it in another 50,000 miles. I highly recommend an empty metal coffee can to catch any fuel that spills out even after the lines have been depressurized.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Has flaws

Good things come in small packages

K&N is a trusted brand so I chose this filter hoping it would be a really great fuel filter. My research on different brands of filter media didn't come up with any technical information for any brands except K&N. The K&N branding on their fuel filter media and filter design speaks volumes about their quality and efficiency. Other leading brands have said little or nothing about what makes those other brands good, better, or no different than the competition. Maybe everyone else feels the same,

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

PF-1100 Great for 2000-2004 Nissan (Bottom Mount) Xterras and Frontiers but please DO NOT underestimate the installation time if the filter has never been changed and your vehicle has over 150,000 miles on it. That. Installation takes longer than you think. Nissan engineers put (what I call it) a bezel in front of the filter on the underside of the passenger side that you have to remove first with a 10mm ratchet. Expect to use several cans of PB Blaster before attempting to remove them. After…

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • Secret
