It's great for all the reasons listed on the product

This is great for all the reasons listed on the product. My small fish are safe from other big fish. When a female starts giving birth to weed babies, you can put her in there with an internal grid and the mother can't eat the babies; when the babies don't come back. It floats a few inches above the waterline to keep babies from jumping out. There is also a trellis going on top to hold the jumpers. I liked having 2 of these so I can keep one clean and switch back and forth if one gets dirty…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Great for baby crustaceans and plants

I use this to separate my baby crustaceans until they are old enough to find a new home. With every water change, they take turns, so that everyone has aquarium time. Small slits on the sides allow water to circulate but are small enough to accommodate gravel. It does not take up much space, does not require unnecessary fuss with filters or a separate water change. Floats, one on each side of a 20 gallon and 10 gallon aquarium. This would also be great for introducing a female betta to a male…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Not recommended for juveniles

Good for spawning, but juveniles (especially my small Celestial Pear Danio fry) can swim right through the vented side vents. The eggs are big enough to stay in, so collecting the eggs and separating the adults was a big help. Just not a good way to keep roasts separate. I had to cover it with the cut end of my tights which really restricted water flow. I ended up raising 2 aquarium sized juveniles, but they were 3 months old before they were big enough not to slip through the slots. UPDATE…

  • Handy

  • So far so good
