Works as advertised. No complaints.

Fits and works perfectly. Well made. Unfortunately, this is one of those tools that you'll probably only use once and never again. However, you must have it to craft a timing belt.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • No paint required

Works great with tools and equipment

I have used this tool several times. That works great. I've used it on some early 2000's Focis and it holds the twin cams in place and senses crank position as required for timing belt work. Love it.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

You need to loosen the screw with the alignment kit.

If using the alignment kit you will need to loosen the bolt on the camshaft to align it properly. Plus, it works wonders and makes it easy to align everything.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Not the best

I repaired and installed the timing belt.

I did my job with the timing belt and installed the tool. The first time was a bit difficult, but the second time it was easier. The second time I started taking it off, the pin stayed in the block and the top parted off. Now I have to remove and disassemble the motor to find the broken part.

Pros
  • Tough build
Cons
  • Weak kit

Great tool: Tools and equipment

Price was a bit high at $25. But it works well and stays REALLY HARD. I've seen people use files and weird things to time cameras due to weak permissions. After using this I would never put a file there. It also has a crank stop screw and I love it. With both I wouldn't try to find any flat metal to block the cams in because that fits perfectly.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Slightly torn

So that was my problem. I reinstalled.

So that was my problem. I reinstalled the head on my Mazda 3-2007 "i". When I started timing the engine, the rod didn't fit into the camshaft slots. I had to raise the camshafts to use the rod and that didn't help me install the timing chain. I used a smaller control screw and it worked fine. Anyway, the engine is reassembled and works well.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • No insurance

these works. in timing belt tools

You can watch some videos where people make this tool themselves. These are very simple tools, but they're not too expensive either. The only thing I would like to warn people about is to make sure you choose the right bolt/bolt. For example, if you have a 2007 2.0L Duratec Ford Focus, you only need a short stud. If you try to use a long one you will end up removing the axle shaft to set the tool in place when you could leave the axle shaft in place and just use the correct short bolt. (Don't…
