Will not fit old Rx 8 ring

Will not fit Mazda RX8. This ring is tightened to 90 lbs and all this tool does is break the lamellar teeth one by one. It's good for a new ring.

Pros
  • Fits great for me
Cons
  • Only available in white

It's ok but not perfect

The tool is quite sturdy but fits quite loosely on my RX-8. I managed to break off one of the plastic tabs on the ring because it was very tight. I had to use a hammer and screwdriver in addition to this tool to remove it.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Updates available

Great tool! worked perfectly!

If you are replacing the fuel pump in the tank, you absolutely need this tool. It worked great and saved me a lot of headaches and time. I highly recommend this tool to anyone who needs to replace the fuel pump in the tank!

Pros
  • Free for training purposes
Cons

Works great for loosening the lock ring on my Mazda rx81 06

Works great for loosening the lock ring on my Mazda rx8 06! There's a lot of adjustment there, and if you actually screw that adjusting nut with a tool just a little smaller than a ring, it won't move when you turn it, as other commenters have said.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Availability for exchange

Great tool great price

I have to say this tool works well for the price. I have a small mobile auto repair shop and don't like spending a lot of money on tools that only work with one model of car. This has worked successfully on a Ford, Chrysler and Mercedes repair I recently did. Not a broken plastic ear.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • I have no real complaints about it everything is fine

Very disappointed - fuel pump removal tool

When I saw this on the Revain I thought my wishes had been granted. Boy was I wrong. Tooltopia did a great job with order processing and shipping, but what a mess. Looks pretty heavy in the photos, but it's not at all. It's made of a very tough steel that when torque is applied slips off the locking ring and crushes your knuckles on a nearby object. It would be a great tool if made out of thicker materials and paid more for it. Very disappointed. Tool for removing the petrol tank fuel pump

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons

It *works*: Fuel System Tools

Used to replace the snap ring on my Mazda 3 '04. The tool *works*. First I tightened it while it was on the ring and then tried to turn it. It slipped after very little torque. What I did was take it off the ring and then tighten it a little more than I thought it should. This gave him a better grip on the plastic ring. It probably still isn't as good as if there were notches around it, but it did the job perfectly. Not disappointed at all. I would recommend it to a friend and would buy itโ€ฆ

Works on 07 RX-8, not beginner friendly

As mentioned in a number of other reviews I was able to get this to work on a 2007 Mazda RX-8. Tighten the tool slightly shorter than the width of the pump. The tool should have flexed a bit when I squeezed it. Make sure the locking tabs on both sides of the ring are removed. I had to put a lot of pressure on the top of the tool to keep it from just slipping off the ribs. I managed to break one. It is difficult to re-tighten the pump with this as the pump itself will want to rotate under theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
