1st one is on its 3rd year, new one is for a 2nd birdbath

The 1st one we bought is in a shallow birdbath with lots of sunshine. Since the birdbath is small, I use it without any of the nozzles and it is more like a bubbler. The top disc separated from the floating bottom part, I pressed them back together and it works as before but the top has become a cloudy white. It still works. The water in the birdbath is kept clean and clear and the fountain is washed every month or so to keep the pump clean. In the summer, the water gets quite warm but this does

Pros
  • Works well. Would be better with an on/off switch.
Cons
  • The fountain may not provide enough aeration, causing water to become stagnant

Inexpensive way to turn your bird bath into a fountain

After a recommendation from a family member, I ordered two of these. I love how they keep the water moving to keep it fresher for longer. It WILL NOT WORK if it's not in direct sunlight. The only problem I had was a redbird that was used to taking her bath in my bird bath gave me a strong talking to for putting it in her bath. Too funny! So, I moved it to another bird bath. Problem solved.

Pros
  • China
Cons
  • The fountain is not powerful enough to create significant movement in larger ponds or pools

A little effort required

Pretty fountain. Serves its purpose. Smaller than I anticipated, but that’s ok, I just put it in the smaller birdbath. Be prepared to use the correct spout for the size of your birdbath or koi pond. The larger spouts spray water out of the birdbath and drain the water. Also, the water tends to evaporate at a faster rate when the foundation is in it. If you’re ok with refilling the birdbath each morning and late afternoon, this is a lovely feature to have. Another thing: the fountain doesn’t…

Pros
  • Looks and works great on my bird bath. Attracts birds and looks beautiful.
Cons
  • The pump is too noisy and disruptive to enjoy outdoor relaxation

Well, it's not like the time I clipped off the fire hydrant.

This is easy to use, but not having a battery, it only pumps when the sun is shining on it directly. There are lots of nozzle choices, good sprays. It disassembles easily for cleaning. It's a goodun.

Pros
  • Mademax
Cons
  • The fountain may be too expensive for the features it offers

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It does what it says.

It does what it's supposed to, however. it needs to be in DIRECT sunlight for full power. There is no storage cell, so if the sun moves. no fountain.Works great for desert homes or cleared areas!

Pros
  • Eco-friendly and energy-efficient solar-powered system
Cons
  • The fountain may require frequent cleaning to maintain optimal performance

Remember to keep centered!

This is the cutest little fountain! You have to find a way to keep it floating in the center of the basin as it will pump all the water out. Just drop in your water feature, wait for a little sunshine and off it goes!

Pros
  • Small than I thought
Cons
  • The solar panel is too sensitive and may stop working after slight damage

Too big for small bird baths

This is a nice feature for large flat-bottomed bird baths or small pond features. The fountain sprays are really cool looking, and the various spray nozzles provide some nice interest. The problem is the unit is big, and will not look good in a small decorative bath bath. The bottom is not flat, but has a protrusion that houses the pump suction, so it is designed and intended to float. This idea is okay, but many baths aren't that deep or have a center post or side obstruction that the pump…

Pros
  • KEEPING THE PUMP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BIRD BATH: Our company has designed a retainer to avoid the random movement of the solar fountain pump. It prevents the solar powered water fountain from spraying water outside the bath and empties water quickly. No more wasting time on filling water.
Cons
  • The fountain may not be able to withstand strong winds or weather conditions

Works as advertised

Works right out of the box, so be careful if you're in sunlight and haven't put it in the water yet, because the pump will work and that could mess it up if there's no water. Solution? Turn the unit upside down until you get to the birdbath or whatever water source you're using. The instructions weren't designed for engineering challenged folks like myself. When I read the back of the limited instructions, I thought the pump had to dangle down in the water. Nope! Just leave the back alone until

Pros
  • Water Gardens & Ponds
Cons
  • The fountain may create unbalanced water chemistry in the bird bath

Works well for a small deck birdbath

A simple, very basic fountain without a battery backup, so the full sun must be out for it to work. It fits very well in a small deck attached birdbath which can be found on ebay. I disliked the four ugly tubes that are designed to hold the fountain in place, so I experimented with garden rocks. At first, I put the rocks over the some of the solar panels so the fountain only put out bursts of water every few seconds. Finally I found a way to stabilize the fountain with rocks on the side that…

Pros
  • Pumps
Cons
  • The fountain may not be suitable for use in areas with heavy water restrictions

Not perfect but does the job

Good little pump for a nice price. I got this to add to a bird bath and my only complaint is that all the nozzle options spray the water so high (or wide) that the water is often blown out of the bird bath with any wind at all, so it eventually drains the water and you need to refill. Powerful but retains no battery life - if the sun isn’t shining, it doesn’t work. Overall I’m happy as I didn’t want to spend a lot on something.

Pros
  • Allows for the creation of a sustainable ecosystem
Cons
  • The fountain may require expensive replacement batteries after prolonged use

Pretty Cool best in my review

Such fun! I won't lie, I had to return mine. VERY simple to put the bumpers on, shake it, and put in bird bath. My problem was, with the bumpers on, there wasn't any room for the birds to get into the bath, and with the bumpers off, it got too close to the edges of the bath and shot the water out. I was going out every 1.5 - 2 hours and refilling. It was fun to watch, and the birds would drink out of it regardless of where it was in the bath. Oh, and the battery backup - that's all built in…

Pros
  • Perfect for those who want to reduce their carbon footprint
Cons
  • The pump may not be able to push water through multiple levels of nozzles

Does the job adequately!

Very easy to set up - I use it with just the wide flow attachment and let it circulate as it is used in a smaller bird bath. It keeps the water from evaporating as fast and from splashing out of the bath. I dont like the fact that it will not operate unless the sun is directly on it, but if you have direct sun rays, no issues.

Pros
  • It's fun and cute giving fountain whimsy.
Cons
  • The pump is not durable and may break down after only a few uses

Technically, this fountain does what it says -- sprays water as long as it's in direct sunlight -- but if there is even the faintest *hint* of cloud in the sky, a passing leaf, a bird sitting close enough that its shadow falls somewhere on the top of the fountain, or if it's any time of day when the sun is a little lower in the sky and not directly overhead, it will stop. Mine's in full sunlight for part of the day, but at certain times of day a high tree branch (as in 30 feet up) casts a very…

Pros
  • Hassle-free and easy installation with no tools required
Cons
  • The bird bath may not be able to withstand constant exposure to sunlight

Not Up to Texas - my new review

Love this little fountain, but the Texas heat has been so bad, it just doesn’t last. Bought two, and the first one died in 1 month. Doesn’t work without sun, but too much doesn’t work either.

Pros
  • Great way to provide supplemental aeration for fish and plants in ponds
Cons
  • The fountain may not be able to consistently provide enough water for birds to drink

Difficult to keep fountain running continuously

The bowl/dish on my bird bath is only 2 inches deep. The solar fountain runs okay for a while in the sun, but the floating solar fountain rocks with vibration, which

Pros
  • SPRAYER FOR DIFFERENT WATER STYLE: The package comes with 4 nozzles, which allows you to choose different water fountain patterns easily, adding much fun into your garden.
Cons
  • The fountain may not be suitable for use in areas with limited sunlight

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Needs Direct sunlight

Love this solar fountain. BUT. I have to fill it sometimes twice a day because when the water sprays out of the bowl, it makes the water level lower and it won't work if too low. In addition, it needs direct sun in order to work. If a cloud appears, or it becomes in the shade the fountain stops.

Pros
  • Patio, Lawn & Garden
Cons
  • The pump may not be strong enough to push water through all four nozzles at once

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Size of bird bath. good for me

Works fine but the water keeps coming out of the birth bath especially on a windy day having to fill it every couple of hours otherwise it looks very nice to watch.

Pros
  • It tilts to one side. It almost empties my bird bath.Is it too late to send it back?
Cons
  • The fountain is too small and underwhelming for larger outdoor spaces

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great addition to your bird bath

This is a great product for the price. I have a large hand thrown ceramic serving bowl on a stand 10" from the ground next to my little apricot tree. The fountain keeps the water moving and attracts birds to the water. I have other bird baths of similar size, but the one with the fountain gets the most activity.

Pros
  • Outdoor Décor
Cons
  • The fountain may become discolored or damaged after prolonged sunlight exposure

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Unpleasantly Surprised

This little fountain is neat… unless you live in hells buttcrack, Texas. It only works when directly under the hot, blazing sun. Once the sun begins to set, and it’s not right above it, it just squirts every few seconds. Therefore, the birds, who are desperately hiding in the shade to avoid death, don’t use it at all. They might sneak out when there’s a passing cloud, but guess what?! It doesn’t work at that time! I sent this back and ordered one that works at night, or even in the shade for…

Pros
  • Lightweight and portable design allows for easy relocation
Cons
  • The pump may not be powerful enough to push water through the nozzles at desired heights

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Such a great distraction!

This was a total impulse purchase for me. It is different from solar lights which have some built in battery to store solar energy and then turn on at night. This has no solar energy storage. It works in direct sunlight only. When a cloud comes, it will stop. When the sun comes out again, it will start working again. It wasn't overly clear what the plastic tubes were for. Essentially these hold the unit in place. W/o them, the unit will float around and when it hits the side of the…

Pros
  • Doesn't require any expertise to assemble
Cons
  • The fountain may not be able to run consistently without cleaning
